How so? A lot of yall were banging on the table for IQ to start and now he gets the chance. He was playin the Brunson role in Dallas. Assuming that his production increases as a starter, Raps have a capable shooter/scorer in Trent, young wings in Barnes and RJ, Siakam, and a serviceable center than can do more than just rebound. Take the favorite team bias aside and we honestly just have Brunson, Randle (depending on his mood), and now OG who wants 40mil/year. Lost our sixth man, so now we’re relying on Grimes to get it together. Yeah, we have PF depth with Precious now, but trading RJ AND IQ made this a bit of a lateral move for us. OG still gonna play behind 2 ball dominant lefties and we still don’t have a backup C. Oh wait, we have Taj…

No doubt IQ going to ball but on this team he wasn’t going to get those minutes and RJ is addition by subtraction and that’s factual and OG doesn’t need the ball to be effective. OG is not getting 40 mil and he knows it, word was he didn’t want be in TO any more so why not shoot high. Who’s more important a starting SF who REALLY is a defensive cat and can score more efficiently than RJ without needing the ball or a 6th man?

That remains to be seen. OG hasn’t had to play with guys like Brunson or Randle yet. He’s also coming into an iso heavy offense. We all know that trades can look good on paper, but the fit isn’t always right. In theory, OG should be an upgrade over RJ, but we need bench scoring. We’ve won games bc of IQ. Now we’re going to rely on guys who can’t get their own shot off. I’m not super optimistic about this trade, but I hope I’m wrong. Just feels like we didn’t really improve by trading both guys for one.

Do you think IQ is good enough to take that next step like Brunson? Brunson was dominating in the games Luka was out and showed that ability early. IQ has gone off in a few games where he started but he's also had some really poor games where he started and looked lost. I think he'll be a solid 18/8 starting PG but not like a 25/10 guy that makes a team a contender
