I've never seen a crumbling midsole on an Air Force 1. I know the air unit can crumble from within. A midsole though? It's rubber.

I’ve only had one shoe crumble on me so my word is far from law but as I understand it the shoe (AF1s) become extremely uncomfortable once that air unit is gone. I haven’t seen a rubber midsole crumble but I could see the value in doing a swap.

That's what I'm talking about. The air unit is in the midsole.

The air unit is encapsulated in a piece of foam about half an inch thick, in between the rubber sole and footbed of the upper.

AF1s are telfon. Those things last forever. Standard ones aren’t all that comfortable in the first place. So if there is an older pair I really like I have no issues wearing them
