Wasn’t even sure which box we were getting. Black box it is.

Box color is white/white-summit white but they are all regular white sans the heel tab. Not sure what is summit white about them.

Very soft leather

One-piece flat tongue.

No lockdown

The crafts have a little of what I call ‘butt toe’ similar to the Kith Linens and Rocs, although it’s not as bad as those. It’s not ideal, but I’ll take it over cliff toe any day.

Ortholite insoles

Sizing is the same as other recent pairs I own.

First white/white I’ve owned since 2009. Overall best white/white I’ve owned since 2002.

So is the toebox everyone referring as being the worse type nowadays having more of that “banana toe” shape? I keep seeing everyone talking about horrible toebox shaping of the ‘07 but don’t have any older pairs myself to compare to.

Cliff toe will always be my least favorite shape. Banana generally refers to outsole shape and doesn’t necessarily affect toe shape since most shoes flatted out when you wear them.

Cliff and butt toe are both caused by the tip being too high in relation to the vamp. Just depends how it’s shaped. This affects nearly all Nike models and it’s largely a result of the lasts that are used to mold the shoes. Modern lasts are made to allow wiggle room in the toe, which doesn’t work well with many retro models.

What I call ‘butt toe’ is when the tip has too much material but they still try to round it where it meets the vamp to make it look more like the old mold, but it ends up poking out like a butt.
