Yeah, my black toes are trash. My Chicagos are slightly better.

That's surprising, guess I don't need the 2016 1s.

You can't base it on that. All 1's from the same style code (sku) are not created equal. It's on a shoe to shoe basis.

The 2016 Banned's I got leather is stiff as hell in relation to my other 1's. Doesn't mean all Banned's have stiff leather though.

AJ1 Double uppers have probably experienced having two pairs of the same shoe night and day from each other in terms of look and texture.

Dude stop. No one should reasonably expect Cole Haan level leather on a basketball shoe let alone AJ1s. You leather police are so annoying.

And "dude" it feels like plastic leather at the end of the day. It's not that serious. You people that say "this leather is so good" or "amazing" are funny because it's trash at the end of the day.

you know what i find stupid? these idiots on youtube going " oh i love that smell thats how you know its good leather cuz it have that strong smell!" no jack *** what you sniffing is the glue underneath the insole

Don't bring out the best leather on earth created by Jesus himself Shattered Backboard fan boys.[emoji]128513[/emoji]

Trash by what standards though? Lemme guess you wish they'd been like the SBBs or something right? Leather on CHI 1s is as good as I would expect it to be for that shoe. Had they used a so called "better" leather I'm sure people like you would've eaten it up but it would've probably done nothing more than just alter the original intended look of the shoe. That said there is nothing plastic about the leather on 2015 Chi 1s. You're buggin.

Nope. I don't think the SBB's are all that impressive either. Like I said, it's funny when fools rave about the synthetics the shoe is made from. The outlet joints didn't impress me either. But this is a Jordan thread so a lot of yall are brainwashed into thinking it's good leather.

I agree with this...to an extent. It's also a little unreasonable to call AJ1s basketball shoes at this point. Even though for all intents and purposes they are basketball shoes, very few people are actually wearing them to play basketball. Most are just wearing them casually. Original release did also have good leather quality (and many AJ1 retros thereafter). In addition, other brands (New Balance, Diadora, etc.) produce runners with great leather quality. While runners are not basketball shoes, both still fall under the category of "performance" shoes.

All in all, I think your argument should be that we shouldn't expect high quality materials from Jordan Brand, if anything. Just my two cents though.

I think for a $160 shoe, nobody should have high expectations on the materials used but, there have been a few that definitely got our attentions as consumers and was a very nice step up from what we've been given prior.

What do you think of the Chicagos? Good leather? Bad leather?
