Armed Forces for today; realized yesterday that I hadn't worn these in a while.

My love for the 1s grew as I got older. I realized I didn't' want to be 26+ wearing patent leather XI (Space Jam exception) and split colorblocking like cherry XIIs. While I loved these types of shoes as a kid and teenager, my style evolved and sneakers weren't the highlight of my outfit, but just an accent. I wanted a simple and timeless sneaker in somewhat subtle colorways which is exactly what 1s are. 2008-2012 didn't offer much in terms of 1s both on a quality and colorway level. But over the last couple years they have been releasing the greatest 1s of all time. Now that I look back what I'm mad that I passed on 1s from 2001 and opting for carolina blue XI, but I was young and now I'm working on pickup those older releases.

repped for truth.  I'm same as you.  considering selling some of the more recent retros to focus on 1's

to me, if you want Royals either sell em for find someone to trade ( Which trading might be hard IMO )

but if you are gonna wear royals then go for it brah
size 8 or 8.5 royals are impossible to find sigh

so question, i have a pair of 1994 chicago ones worn 2x, pristine condition. can it trade for a pair of royals?
I would trade them for Royals. They're about to get the retro treatment in a few months! Might be another decade until you see Royals again. You can also pick up 94s for a decent price

I guess I'm like a lot of you guys althoIugh my love for the 1 really started right around the OLNL pack. I actually passed on that pack and was able to track it down later for retail plus shipping. Pretty much since 07/08 I've been able to amass almost every recent retro of the AJ1 that I've wanted.

Unlike alot of people in this thread I don't mind mids as much but obviously I prefer highs. My first pair of highs was actually BRED strap 1s and the original red Premier joints. I went back and copped the CDP joints on sale from a local for like 100 bucks. Since then I've pretty much been focusing on 1 Highs although I regret passing on those UNC mids last year.

never cared for ones until last year and now im obsessed with 80s and 90s style shoes, i still like my XIs but nothing like an awesome old school shoe but i refuse to camp or pay crazy high prices for a jordan 1

yeah i have decided to sell my 94 chicagos. hope i can catch a deal for a pair of royals (both 2013 and 2001 is fine with me)even DB foams and 88 3s. anyone have a picture of both 2013 and 2001 royals side by side comparison?

I get where u come from fam... The One honestly makes since for my transition I come from a city that the AF1 NEVER DIED... Like I grew up on LE (with the coin etc) AF1s. For people in Milwaukee I think we never really let that style of shoe go...

As I grew older and my fashion went from baggy to slim I think the 1 became a grail shoe because it always looked good but it stayed true to my oversized Nike check roots. While also acknowledging the fact that I grew up on Jordans and respect the legacy...

I honestly rarely can wear other Jordans with my style now because I'm more dress casual etc and the AJ1 just flows better with my fits.....

I still own just about 1 of every Jordan model 1-1 tho just because I grew up in the era where that **** WAS too dope.

I'd keep your chicagos and ditch that DB foam trash.

'94s have the best shape ever on a one with great leather

well i dont like how the ankle is feeling plus they are kinda small on me, and my first option after i sell them is royals. or 88 3s
