Been hanging in the closet for like 15 years....I actually had to go to wire hangers cause I ran out of room....went to dry cleaners and put bags over a few gamers I have hanging on display that aren't framed...

I suggest using baking soda or one of those charcoal closet accessories. They eliminate odor and moisture. Keeps your clothes fresh.

Regarding storage, my tips:

-No sunlight
-don't hang/ pack too tightly together
-Invest in quality/wide hangers
-Hang some cedar wood to repel moths

The rest of my stuff, I store in plastic bins with lavender balls to repel insects.
