Hey everyone, didn't see a thread about Awake NY here on NT and thought they deserved one.
If you don't know much about the brand, here is a quick write up about them:
Launched in 2012, Awake NY captures the unique cultural spirit and sensibility of New York City. Awake NY is a reflection of the diversity that has defined the city's cultural landscape. Simultaneously classic and contemporary, Awake NY evokes both the changing aesthetic vibrancy and timelessness of New York.
Angelo Baque is best known as the man who designs Supreme's goodness that the Internet (and ourselves) tend to go crazy for. If you have a hard time getting your grubby mitts on Supreme's latest release you're in luck: Baque has released his latest brand, Awake.
The brand's first collection is for spring/summer 2013, and is very brief. That doesn't mean it isn't worth inspecting. In fact, the garments should be hits amongst existing fans of Baque's work, but wish he would take his love for design and patterns a touch further. Oxford shirts with printed sleeves, garish bucket hats, graphic T-shirts and sweatshirts, and even a camouflage parka collaboration with Penfield ensure that streetwear can find their shining haven in Baque's quirky designs.
