for those interested, i noticed an under armour football. i wonder if they added an adidas football along with the under armour/adidas visors. i haven't seen any new cleats at all, and i doubt they added secondary team color accessories either.

Looks just like every other football game released in the past 3-4 years. $60 saved!

looks haven't changed. with that.....

gimme THE U in the first XBL dynasty that gets set up.

They better bring back the feature for us to export draft classes to madden.

Would be intrigued to see if 2k gets a stab at this. Don't know why we don't even have a college basketball game

This gonna be my first NCAA football pickup in a long time. Gonna have fun turning a small school to a powerhouse:D
Breaking Down NCAA Football 14 Gameplay
College football is unpredictable, and now so is NCAA Football 14.

The addition of Infinity Engine 2 allows you to play true to your team with gameplay tuned with the college game in mind, bringing multiple college play-styles to life. Players have been significantly tuned to balance based on position and size, which means you’ll also feel momentum as you run with the ball.  You’ll also notice updated player behavior after each play is over.

Here’s a look at specifically what you can expect with the new Infinity Engine 2.

The Power of Force Impact

ncaa-football-14-gameplay-8-tn.jpg

Use new stiff-arm to create your own space around the outside

As we continually evolve the Infinity Engine, we have more control to build physics-based features to create more realistic player interactions on the field. The Force Impact System allows us to create more realistic hits that take momentum, speed, and mass into account. You can now feel the big plays on offense and defense, which provide a more real feeling than ever before.Offense wasn’t the only side of the ball that got some love, this year in NCAA Football 14 you will find the Hitstick is much more powerful than ever before. Deliver bone crushing hits and tackles to the unsuspecting ball carrier.

Players can now recover from a near tackle with the new Stumble Recovery, which you can see a ball carrier put their hand down on the turf and keep trudging along for more yards. Based on a combination of player attributes and the impact of the hit, this is a real-life movement from the field that makes a huge difference in the open field. The stumble recovery will help assist in those frustrating moments where you run into a defender and watch your player fall to the ground without any way to recover.

ncaa-football-14-gameplay-5-tn.jpg

No longer at the mercy of the dice roll

With the Infinity Engine 2, things like dive tackles, trucks, and stiff arms are now driven by physics when timed correctly. All of these improvements to gameplay are made possible by the Infinity Engine 2, which allows for thousands of organic, unpredictable outcomes with some of the biggest hits we’ve ever seen in the NCAA Football franchise.

Swerve Not

ncaa-football-14-gameplay-4-tn.jpg

You could drive a truck through that cutback lane

Another significant improvement to gameplay in NCAA Football 14 is the running game. This year, we enhanced the running game by enabling you to make hard cuts on the field. The running game is an integral piece of college football, and in order to deliver the most realistic experience, we’ve emphasized changing the running game to eliminate inauthentic turning and running. With NCAA Football 14 you can make more hard cuts, which give better feeling of better weight and realistic running.

ncaa-football-14-gameplay-6-tn.jpg

Follow your blockers and run to daylight

Building a Better Back

One thing we’ve learned over the years is that running backs are almost never moving at full speed the moment they take the ball, and need to be patient to allow blocks to develop and find the hole. While we’ve previously put an emphasis on getting the running backs up to full speed as quickly as possible, this year we’ve tuned the game to give users more control over running backs behind the line, as well as when making moves in the open field.

ncaa-football-14-gameplay-7-tn.jpg

Make the safety pay for taking a bad angle to the ball

We’re also aware that sometimes you need that extra burst of speed, so we’ve introduced an acceleration burst mechanic that allows you to hold the right trigger and reach top speed more quickly to get around the corner or evade a pursuing defender. There’s a tradeoff though, as running harder – as well as making moves like spins, jukes and cuts – drains your stamina faster, so you may lose your steam on long runs. We’ve included an on-screen stamina meter this year, so you’ll know exactly how much energy you’ve got left on any given play before you run out of gas.

Fans are encouraged to keep up to date by visiting the NCAA Football website, Facebook, and Twitterfor exclusive assets and unique insights into all this year’s new features. College football enthusiasts can also get involved in the conversation by tweeting with the hashtag #PLAYTRUE.

I didn't really care for NCAA 13, seemed as if the QB play was just too inaccurate for me. May give this one a chance though
NCAA Football 14 Playbook 2: Presentation
The ultimate goal of any video game is to immerse you in the action. That’s why we’ve been heavily focused in making improvements both on and off the field for NCAA Football 14. We’re excited to start revealing some of the biggest upgrades to presentation.

ncaa-football-presentation-1.jpg

Blur Tempo

In NCAA Football 14, you’ll feel the emotion of college football right from the streamlined and responsive menu interface. Now you can see all the game modes and available options – such as Play Now, Dynasty and Ultimate Team – at a glance and jump straight into the action.

One major complaint from fans over the last few years is that the pre-game simply took too long. When you’re in Play Now, you want to play. Pregame festivities have been redone from 2-3 minutes sequences to emphatic 30-second intros that still retain all of the college traditions that play such a big part of different school's identities.

The intros in Dynasty Mode are also deeper and more immersive than ever before. Rece Davis will set the stage with robust game storylines that are accompanied by a variety of on-screen banners, faithfully recreating the type of montages seen on ESPN before big games on Saturday. On-screen banners incorporate dynamic phrases, and there are multiple variations based on the type of game you are playing, like a rivalry or bowl game.

ncaa-football-presentation-2.jpg

Leave It on the Field

New triggering logic in NCAA Football 14 will capture the emotion on the field like never before. Replacing the legacy vignettes are more than 500 new sequences that run between plays. These vignettes are designed to keep you in the action – just like watching college football on TV. You’ll also notice dynamic player wipes and all new-team wipes.

Another detail that makes a big impact is the inclusion of pre-play player chatter. Now, in addition to hearing the QB bark out audibles, you can listen in as defenders call out their adjustments. You might catch the center calling out the number of down linemen or the QB calling out the Mike Linebacker. Linemen can make calls to alert potential blitzers, and the defense will counter by calling out strength of formation. You may even hear the location of the tight end or which players the defense will be keying on. You’ll also hear players celebrating between whistles as they make game-changing plays like TDs and INTs.

ncaa-football-presentation-3.jpg

Authenticity is important to NCAA Football 14 and the game will feature the latest new uniforms, team-specific gloves and base layers. In close collaboration with the apparel manufacturers, you can expect regular uniform updates post-launch as well.  Rest assured that your team will not only be playing in accurate gear, but they’ll also be using the correct football based on their school’s equipment and apparel manufacturers. That’s right, Under Armour schools will play with an Under Armour ball.

ncaa-football-presentation-8.jpg

This year, South Alabama makes its long-awaited debut in NCAA Football along with Old Dominion and Georgia State. The Jaguars stadium has been accurately recreated, as has Texas State’s. That’s right, Jim Wacker Field at Bobcat Stadium will be in the game. Both big and small schools received attention, with TCU’s stadium updated to reflect their recent renovations. Horned Frogs fans should feel right at home.

ncaa-football-presentation-5.jpg

Neutral site games make their long-awaited debut this year, including the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic (Georgia Dome), Cowboy Kickoff Classic (Cowboys Stadium) and the Texas Kickoff Classic (Reliant Stadium). NCAA Football 14 also features three stadiums brought over from Madden NFL: Soldier Field, MetLife Stadium and M&T Bank Stadium. You can even create your own neutral site game. Let your imagination run wild.

The Story of the Game

In addition to the on-field improvements, NCAA Football 14 features a more realistic and enjoyable broadcast experience. This year, Brad Nessler and Kirk Herbstreit will focus on the ever changing in game stories that make college football so great. They'll highlight key players and their performances throughout the season, along with the storylines that play out dynamically on the field.

The development team meticulously studied box scores throughout the 2011 and 2012 season, dissecting statistics and finding patterns. What was discovered was that many games follow similar storylines and these were the first building blocks of our Drive Stories feature. In NCAA 14, Brad and Kirk will recognize patterns as the game progresses and comment on them as a banner is shown on screen. These moments precede key drives, and mimic real broadcasts where the commentary team would take a step away from the action and sum up how the game is playing out.

ncaa-football-presentation-6.jpg

Anyone who has watched college football knows that when a National or Conference leader is playing in a game, the broadcast will place the spotlight on them. In NCAA Football 14, if a user-controlled team or the opposition has one of these Key Players, Brad and Kirk will introduce the player and talk about his importance, and then track his performance throughout. How is he playing in relation to his team? Does he rebound from a slow start? Does a Key QB’s run game steal the show? Is the player falling apart as his team struggles? These are just some of the many storylines available this year.

There are also special storylines in store for the most dedicated Dynasty gamers. Some won’t become available until at least your 2[sup]nd[/sup] year as a coach, while others take much more time to unlock.

ncaa-football-presentation-7.jpg

The ESPN Living Game Clock, which provides quick-hitting stats on previous plays, player stats, game stats, play selection and more, is just one more piece that heightens immersion and makes the game feel truer to an actual ESPN broadcast.

We can announce that NCAA Football 14 will feature a halftime show with Rece Davis and David Pollack. The duo will recap your game, call out highlights and set up the second half with a combination of thoughtful insight and witty banter.

David Pollack’s experience on the defensive side of the ball, along with his natural chemistry with Rece Davis on air, results in a compelling halftime show. The insightful banter back and forth creates naturally flowing, authentic commentary.

And last but not least, we’re excited to announce that “Zombie Nation” and “Seven Nation Army” are in NCAA 14, two of the most widely-used stadium anthems in the country. And yes, you’ll hear the crowd chanting, just like they do in real life. More info is on the way, so make sure you read the site regularly.

There’s a ton of other features that will be announced shortly, each making NCAA Football 14 look, and feel, like nothing you’ve ever played before. Check back in the coming days and weeks for even more details on all the improvements to presentation.

...so once again, we only get a team's primary color, black and white "base layer" asseccories. if i rock with the gators, i shouldn't be limited to just blue, black or white socks, under shirts, sweat bands, gloves, etc. did they just say f**k orange? the ncaa team continuously drops the ball on this. lazy bums.

^ Haha they tout the authentic gear yet can't change the 3-4 year old cleats.

Overall though, it's sounding pretty decent.

who the hell cares about cleats?
lets get better gameplay
Why is this always the go to reply when people mention wanting equipment upgrades, as if the people asking about them don't care about gameplay?

It goes without saying that people buying a game on an annual basis like NCAA want and expect gameplay improvements; but is too much to ask EA to upgrade the cleats, gloves, facemasks, helmets and other accessories in their game on a regular basis?

Don't see why the two have to be mutually exclusive.

What are the art team suppose to work on?

I'd like for them to overhaul recruiting. I liked it better in NCAA Football 2010 and 2011. Also please bring back the Spring Game back into recruiting from NCAA 2007. That's probably the single best feature they took our and never brought back.

The Gaming Tailgate   recently had a podcast where they interviewed a NCAA 14 Designer.

Here's the video:

For those who don't what to listen to the podcast, Operation Sports did a cliff notes of the podcast.
 • Stat banners and loading screens are dynamic, same with post game banners, scores from around the country shown after games.
 • ESPN living game clock will appear in no huddle and in online dynasty games user vs user.
 • Reece Davis and David Pollack chosen together due to their work together on Thursday Night Football. Wanted to increase Reece's role this year. Commentary chemistry between the two is very natural and authentic.
 • Highlights of your game shown (1min-1min 15secs), stats and commentary recapping and foreshadowing second half. Having David Pollack do commentary was a new experience due to him being the first defensive minded analyst to do commentary for NCAA Football series.
 • Studio Updates more tailored to your conference, still will get updates about top ranked teams, but for smaller conferences especially, you will get updates on games that matter to you. Studio Updates will be timed better, primarily after stoppages of plays, after FG's, extra points, etc..
 • Christian said they made it tougher to accidentally button through presentation aspects this year. They want people who want to see them to be able to enjoy it and not accidentally skip something, but if you don't want to see it, then you can still skip them.
 • Reworked vignette logic so they appear at better times, to give the game more ebb and flow, hit emotional highs and lows.
 • Vignettes for big and small moments, sacks, tds, fg's, adjusting chin strap, tapping teammates helmet, helping players get up.
 • 3 new playable cameras, wide, zoom, coordinator. Coordinator is a hybrid of sky and blimp cam that was developed while trying to create a broadcast cam. They never got a broadcast cam that they felt allowed you to see the whole field and the community members who tested it approved. Said coordinator cam has become the favorite cam around the office and may end up being the best football game camera to date. Very excited about everyone using coordinator cam this year.
 • New pregame has a "Saturday Night Football" feel, team runouts mixed with music and game footage. Hired a composer for new menu themes and music variations for pre-game (rock, country, rap, stadium anthem variations) Dynamic smoke and team wipes, video montage lasts 25-30 seconds.
 • Pre-play chatter will be dynamic and authentic without giving away play selection.
 • Crowd audio logic re-worked and improved for louder swells and quieter when bad things happen at home, basically picks up where Madden 13 crowd audio left off. The additional 8 weeks Madden had last year allowed them to have a better sounding crowd than NCAA 13 was able to achieve. Pumping up crowd noise logic reworked and tied in with player chatter, you'll hear guys say stuff like "Come on crowd, let's go, get up"
 • Neutral site games will have neutral audio, same with bowl games.
 • Reworked stadium palettes to look more like real life counterparts, I.E. Nebraska crowd will be a "sea of red" now, was evenly mixed on previous games.
 • Michigan St. new video board and Spartan head at midfield is in, TCU's stadium renovation, plus misc. stadium improvements.
 • New field type and weather, new fog and lighting effects.
 • Re-worked helmet sheers, matte, shiny, vs chrome.
 • Wide-Allows you to see the sideline to sideline view, fisheye.
 • Zoom- Different than Madden's, good for running the ball, gets you in the action.
 • Coordinator-Hybrid between broadcast, sky cam, blimp cam. Allows you to see the field, sideline to sideline, lets you read the offense and defense, to help with the "chess match."
 • Online games, user vs. user can choose independently which angles you want.
 • Player lock works with all camera angles, option to turn on or off this year, can be locked in as a player without the player lock cam if you want.
