Sorry, stopping right there. I knew raping and abusing anybody was wrong at 17. It's not difficult to be a normal, non-piece-of-**** at 17 years old. Everything after this sentence sounds like you're handwaving his actions because he was younger, which I hope isn't the case.
Man, y'all get too emotional and that blinds y'all logically. Your spawn point will help dictate and shape your development. Saying you knew at so and so age in comparison to someone who didn't have the same upbringing as you is an asinine point. Then you factor in that everybody has different morals. Then the rise of of porn addiction. Then the different kinds of crazy porn that the youth are consuming.

Wrong is wrong and he should face some form of consequences for his actions, however, if he and the victim have gotten over it through therapy and mediation privately which we the public arent aware of, its best to temper your outrage. United already suspended him for x amount of time and didnt pay him etc. It might not have the outcome YOU wanted, but for the alleged victim, they found their solution. Also comparing yourself to someone else makes no sense.

Y'all way too invested in the greenwood situation.

Shorty went and got pregnant and now has a kid with him. She must not be too bright if she was being abused or only cares about the money and lifestyle
Her whole family involved too, Mom and Dad.

I understand the backlash against Greenwood and it sounds like it is completely justified. I would have no issue with him never playing professional football again.

Genuinely asking this though: if he wasn't convicted, what employment should he be permitted to have going forward? I don't ask that to say he should be allowed to play football, moreso wondering what we as a society would be accepting of? Where do we collectively draw the line of what he can and cannot do for the rest of his life?

Cultural relativism doesn't really extend to physical/sexual abuse. Sure it's possible that Greenwood's actions were influenced by his environment, but that doesn't make it okay and it shouldnt be used to defend his actions (not that you're defending him). You acknowledge his actions were wrong and he should face consequences. Losing his job seems pretty standard for the allegations, considering that he only avoided jail time for because of witness tampering, and bullying from her own parents.

To add- United is showing they're a disgusting organization from top to bottom with this situation. If they truly believe the situation favors Greenwood, tell the public what they found.

Regarding the relationship between Greenwood and his gf, I haven't said anything about their current situation for a reason - you're right we don't know where they are in all of this. I sincerely hope they're better, that they're happy and that this IS what she wants.
The worst outcome is that she's a victim who's trapped in a cycle of violence, and nobody should want that. I don't even know if her coming out to say anything would help the situation, because the internet warriors will have decided her mindset already, and if the words don't align with their preconceived notions she'll just end up attacked further.

It doesn't just apply culturally. He could have grown up seeing it amongst the adults within his life. I knew something was off about him (similar to that Jalen Green kid in Houston), when that lock room video leaked. If those actions don't tell you these guys aren't addicted to all kinds of sexually explicit content, then people gotta see the signs.

I haven't seen any locker room videos of Greenwood. But agreed that too many people are influenced by extreme porn. Wouldn't shock me if Greenwood had his mindset warped by porn, or yes with adults/older kids he grew up around. Regardless of the 'why,' it's just a sad situation all around. Again, I really hope the family has gone through enough therapy and had enough time to heal.

United is still a disgrace.

Let’s go food for food. Last German game I went to, 2 div(now 3rd) FC Ingolstadt back in 2021.

Genuinely would like to know your thoughts on Arsenal then.

On #11 my stance is the same as when the audio and video came out, I prefer he never represents my club again.

I want to know more about the Partey situation because it's really a bad look to have him employed by the club right now. If theres more that they know, tell us. If Partey is a rapist like the two (or is it three?) women claim, fire him into the sun. The cops essentially dropped the case and we don't know more than what was claimed online. So it's tougher to make a final call.

At the very least, get Partey all the ******* way out of the club.

On the Greenwood stuff, I'll be disappointed if The Athletic stuff is true and that the plan is to bring him back fully, the club statement denies the content of the article but who knows. A decision has definitely been made after this amount of time and they're most likely testing the temperature of the room before making an announcement.

Didn't and still don't think he should play again for the club after that whole situation. He was suspended ever since and hasn't played but it's still not something you want associated with the club and hanging over the team.

It's a tricky situation and not black and white for sure after all the charges got dropped and he never actually faced any legal ramifications in the court of law in the end. The fact that he also ended up marrying the girl involved and having a kid together with her also blurries the picture quite a bit so I get why the club has taken so much time to do their due diligence. Releasing him just like that could bring about a potential lawsuit and they probably don't wanna be seen as abandoning an academy product since childhood either but this isn't a normal case tbf.

Think that a loan away or selling him after a public statement would be the best way forward for everyone involved but we'll see what happens.

Certain clubs have already proven and shown that they don't give two ****s about this sort of thing if it gets in the way of their chances on the pitch. Not even enough to do the bare minimum by keeping the players involved out of their squads, especially ones with the extra righteous fans opining on this case >D, but I don't want United to be another example in a long line of clubs putting more importance on football than just about everything else since that's already the norm in football, especially in the Premier League.

Not saying his career needs to be over with or anything since I also do believe in second chances, especially when it comes to young people, but I just wouldn't be comfortable with that chance coming at United IMO. Was always hard to see a way back from what went down when the story broke and I still don't. Let another club take that chance and make that call.

Arsenal fans should just sit this one out with the guys STILL employed at your club.

Anywho I have no opinion on the greenwood situation, it's none of my business and its not my decision. I just hope the best for any victims etc.

LOL @ tougher to make a call on Party. There are literally multiple women accusing him of rape. The girl back on Twitterlast year was actually coming with a real accusation and posting their interactions via text and everything.

I actually thought you were genuine but you were just using this selective outrage to **** on United. Some moral compass you got there.
