Ella Fitzgerald - What Are You Doing New Years Eve

Happy New Years everyone. I got a bunch of my son's friends coming over tonight to hang out. :rolleyes

Duke Ellington - Jeep's Blues

Can you tell what movie I recently saw? Great movie too...

I like King Curtis' version too. This has Nat Adderley (Cannonball's brother) playing the cornet...

Kenneth Whalum - To Those Who Believe

I think someone posted his stuff in this thread a while back.

He's got a new album called Through Hell & High Water due out in the spring. There really isn't too much of his stuff on youtube. He has a new song with Big KRIT via the soundcloud link.

Stay tuned for this new album...

Oscar Peterson - Blue Moon

Why have I never heard of this album???

I know this is a re-post, but it made me want to listen to this again.

This was on that Oscar Peterson album too, it didn't have any vocals but this sounds incredible.

I really like jazz have been getting into it more and more but sadly don't know many artist. The artist I like are Chet baker, Dave bubrek, Stan getz just to name a few. can some please introduce me to more artist like these? Old/ new doesn't matter. I'm looking forward to seeing all these videos listed above as well!

Dave Brubeck - Maria & Unsquare Dance

Love when jazz musicians cover standards & broadway songs. They totally reinvent them. This is a stellar example taken from A Westside Story. The second track is just :smokin bass & percussion with some piano at the end...

Cecile McLorin Salvant: "Nobody," Just heard about her and she has an album out but I can't find it anywhere.

Your not going to find this at Best Buy or Target (unless she wins the Grammy this weekend). Try a local record shop that has a good jazz section in your "urea". It's also available on iTunes. I really like her release. She's got a good band too.
