biggest difference I see is the shape of the tongue, and the color looks a little off, just a little, from the retro 2003 version

Back and forth between either the Masters or Breds (one or the other)...I like the history and OG aspect behind the Bred 12s....but I kind of like the simple look of the Master 12s better personally (sometimes, all that red is too much for me to rock casually even though it is a good balance between black-and-red)....

WOW, totally surprised by this. I thought it was only AJ5 fire red that he wore. Was this promo art for a Slam Dunk OVA release?

here's a commercial by Takehiko Inoue for Shiseido. you can see Ryokawa also wearing the XII. not entirely sure if the art work came first or the commercial. Sakuragi still has the 1 on.

I don't understand why JB likes using that dull "Varsity Red" for, give us "True Red" or "University Red"

YES. This is why is passed on those ugly aaahhhh White/Red 12s from 09. The red was way darker opposed to the OG's.
