**Official Kendrick Lamar Thread 4th Studio Album ''DAMN.''Out Now**

The transition from the intro to DNA damn near made fall out my chair. Cause you have no idea where this album is going during the intro and then that beat drops out of nowhere.

Pride was on repeat for half hour or so earlier. That **** so ****** smooth.

Cole's numbers fascinate me. Obviously I don't know everyone in the world but I don't know anyone that rocks with J Cole. Music is boring as **** but somehow he puts up wild numbers.

I'll pick this album up next time I'm at DTLR. Not paying more than $10 for an album in 2017.

Hardest song K. Dot has ever come with. Thought the slap of Madd City would never be topped by him.

Nobody is mad, you're a coming in here looking for attention. Now kick rocks and head to the Drake thread.
lol so anyone who thinks the album garbage is a clown? i think the album garbage b. no need for personal attacks on me just because i gave my 2 cents. you needa take a step back and look at yourself

Most rappers today put out 2-4 mixtapes out a year. With 1-3 good songs off of each 1.The majority of it being trash. Why not put your all into it.Then shoot videos and promote the album for a full year.If the album is good. The sales will come eventually. But they cant.Because there not really good rappers. There good at making a club song. But getting a classic,or just a decen full album. Is not going to happen.End of my rant.If most artist released albums like Kendrick or Ross.It would return to the Golden years (90,s).

Minus the Ross reference, repped for truth

As far as a tour goes, PLEASE bring back the Kunta's Groove sessions, seeing Kendrick perform most of TPAB in a small venue was dope as hell.

this

looking forward to coachella stream tomorrow

Y'all tripping, Cole is a dope rapper and I see why he has a huge fanbase. No he's not as skillful as kendrick but who his? 4 was a disappointment to me Cole still dope.

True story

I saw Kendrick Live at the El Rey back during the OD days and was standing side by side with Demar DeRozan. Only other time I seen him live was when he opened for Ye I think.

To go from that to being a superstar is wild. I genuinely didn't think that was in the cards for him. I remember when guys like Skeme, DOM K, Nipsey, all were ahead of him with this LA **** then section 80. hit and nothing was the same after that. Like I remember when DOM K was WAYYYY more popular than him out here. I remember when YG had way more juice than Kendrick out here. Crazy man
Man, I called his success when I first heard 'Training Day'.  At that time, TDE had no label backing and Jay Rock was THE guy.  All the while, Dot was working on his craft.  Then Game put them on a few mixtape, got their names out there and they slowly started bubbling.

Super disappointed in how Skeme and Nipsey turned out.  Skeme just completely lost his 'Westcoast swag' and became an Atlanta rapper.  Nipsey really finessed everyone with the way he drops tapes.  Can't be mad at them, though.

Speaking of Training Day, Never Die is still probably my favorite K.Dot song :hat

Victory Lap on the way.
Not mad at Nip getting money outside of rap cause he's actually building his community.

Kendrick constructing his albums like novellas complete with themes and all that. Excellent album.

Yah is easily one of my favorites...folks seemed to be down on that one

Loyalty has grown on me bigly

All of this ^

I thought I was in the fools wildin' thread when I seen the Cole slander :{

I'm probably one of the few that doesn't like Kid Capri on this album. Kendrick is mad CA and Capri is mad NY. Wish he would have used a CA legend on it but it ain't a big deal.

FHD was great but most of Cole's muisc is boring. He's a good rapper but he needs to rap like he mad or tryna prove something all the time. And yeah his beats are lifeless.

Kendrick claimed he's "king of ny", maybe his reasoning, but maybe DJ Quik on it would've been sick too

Been randomly breaking into "yah yah.... yah yah...." every like 45 minutes :lol

XXX might be the one. Song is sooo raw it hurts.

Album cranks so hard in the whip.

Why does it matter Kid Capri is from NY? :lol He a legend.

Kendrick been working with westcoast legends.

Just hate how most of his songs are never good as standalones. If my iPod on random and one of his songs comes on, its most likely getting skipped.

This is exactly how I feel about alot of TPAB and DAMN.

That random playlist test is big for me, if I listen to your **** sandwiched between other tracks that are dope and immediately want to skip your track, not a good look.

I got multiple tracks from Section.80 and GKMC that won't get skipped on random, but his new stuff, not so much. I think it all goes back to the production, it's just not as good as it was on his previous albums imo. But I'm gonna give DAMN a couple more spins and see if it grows on me.
