Cmon man! That's some old school "Tim Trees" remixed by Tate. YOU don't know nothing Bout THIS. Classic **** right here :lol.

What you know man :lol. Do yourself a favor and listen to the original bankrolls. East side ****. Tate from round my way though. Know a lot of mutual people....including them dudes in the bank roll video.

But for real. This Kendrick album delivered man. FEEL, might be my favorite joint on there. XXX is too dope man. Real life verses on there. Especially the second verse.

I never realized how much of a fan of this dudes music I am. Be randomly knowing songs word for word. K Dot really elite.

To the dude who said TPAB is too musically advanced for most of Kendrick's fans, please get off your high horse guy

high horse?

let me clear this up

i didnt mean his lyrics or concepts are too advanced for most of his fans

i was more so getting at the production and instrumentation on TPAB

he recorded it with The Isley Brothers, George Clinton, Terrace Martin, Thundercat and such

the production and beats are what draw most listeners to records

TPAB production pulled from the legends of funk, soul, and hip hop

Dr Dre had him recording songs and verses in analog just to have that old school mo town record sound

he had a full band play live straight through songs which is hardly ever done in music anymore because we have technology and programs to cut copy paste drag and drop.

these are the things that hold albums up over the years like Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill or Aquemini

kids today over look most of that stuff

thats why I said TPAB was musically too advance for most of his fans not lyrically

Okay, I must say, after listening to the album zooted and on some speakers, I mess with the album HEAVY now. Element, XXX are my favorite tracks, but really the quality is there all throughout. I still won't call it an INSTANT classic, but it's really good.

I like how there's a different theme and social commentary he provides on his three albums. GKMC focused on the drama he had to deal with as a youth in Compton, TPAB provides social commentary on the black man plight in this country and beyond, and DAMN touches on his relationship with God. Really can't find this diversity in subject matter from that many other artists. Only ones I can think of pulling off something similar is Cole and Wale.

I mean thats cool and all, but all that matters is the end product. If it isn't hitting to someone, it isn't hitting.

You don't have to be a scholar to understand Kendrick's lyrics but there's a lot to it. Your average rap fan that's 25 and under is growing up on a generation of rap where you don't have to be lyrical or artistic. Just gotta have a hard beat and make something catchy so these lyrics, wordplay and stories are going over people's heads. No one else on a major with actual skill is doing what Kendrick is doing right now. No one is putting that effort into telling a story or creating an album. Most rappers just need 3-4 hot songs and that's it. We just seen Future mail it in because of a contract, he doesn't give a **** about those albums and he's one of the biggest names in rap today.

I love TPAB, that **** is a movie for me. I gotta play it all the way through. I don't just play songs. DAMN. is different, I can play it on shuffle or just certain songs. It's been on all weekend and its only getting better. Still picking up on **** he's saying.

Futures albums were hard man, he's not kendrick but he brings something entirely different to the table.

Yeah HNDRXX is fire, it doesn't need to be compared to DAMN tho, two different sounds and intended audiences.

Kaytranada killing his set at Coachella right now.

And damn these look like little kids at this festival.

^This. I was talking about the instrumentation as well, but basically I don't think "too advanced" was really the right description. All due respect to Thundercat and Terrace Martin and Kendrick for what they were trying to do, definitely respect the effort and attempt, but at the end of the day I just think the end product wasn't the greatest. There's dope jazz music, there's dope funk music, and then there's the jazz/funk production we got on TPAB which, in my opinion, was just aight. But to each his own I suppose.
