**Official Kendrick Lamar Thread 4th Studio Album ''DAMN.''Out Now**

Sunshine and The City is Mine are fire. Vol 1 got my favorite Jay song ever and Vol 1 was my introduction to Jay. Vol 2 and Blueprint would probably make my top 3 Jay albums. Vol. 1 got like 4-5 songs that are just ****** awful though.

Eminem spitting, don't give a **** how old you are. If you can't acknowledge his lyrics, wordplay and flow on albums 1-3, I don't give a **** what you gotta say about anything Rap related

Regardless of his wordplay and flow, he still talks about a lot of nothing these days, and albums like Encore and Relapse just make him... meh to me now.

My defense to this, I have a friend for example who no matter what, Nas will always be his number 1. I can respect that, but aside from a few albums, his discography is incredibly inconsistent and doesn't have much replay value.

Even Jay-Z was about 50% with his albums.

Nah ain't nothing wrong with him being your #1. I just want it to be cause you love the music that much, not because of scores it was given.

It's rap. What the **** does Drake, Future, Uzi and Young Thug talk about? Very few rappers, ESPECIALLY TODAY, have actual content and something worth saying. Em got songs where he clowning and talking **** but he got joints where he saying real **** too

back to our regularly scheduled programming....

I am is not by any means his best album. :lol @ the ******ed **** I read on this board.

What's ******ed about that opinion? It was the perfect balance between nas lyricism and commercialism, just like jays vol 2. Nas is like will forever be one of my fav songs, hate me now was a commmercial song but nas killed it, especially that 3rd verse, favor for a favor ft scarface, Dude brought the down south legend in :smokin had the female joint with timbo and Aaliyah,
Nysom 2 was straight raw. Yea to me it's his best album... shrugs

Never understand the hate I Am got. I played the hell out of it. I guess you could remove 2-3 songs but that album is fire. I guess the problem with it is that Illmatic and IWW were so good, people were looking for something to ***** about.

Nas is my favorite MC but I skip like 5 songs on I Am while nothing is skipped on Illmatic and only Nas is Coming is skipped on IWW. Still wish we could have gotten the original I Am double LP.

Also, whoever said Eminems first three albums, as an adult, Marshall Mathers LP doesn't hold up, sure the title track for example is great, but he was seriously dissing boy bands and ICP? It's so corny.
This is real talk. Em has the hardest to revisit catalog. He's no doubt legendary but I find myself never going back to his stuff except for a few songs to play at parties.

Fair. Yeah, aside from a few tracks, I love every project he's released since OD and agree with the perfect scores.

Facts
Eminem could rap no doubt but son has always been "Corny" to me even during his prime. Even worse now as an adult.

Has Kendrick surpassed Nas at this point in his career?

Kendrick hasn't even had enough to time to fall off yet, everyone falls off and has to recover, then we judge from there. His first major album debuted like 5 years ago.

That goes with his other point that if you hang around long enough, you eventually drop something mediocre. Em damaged his legacy like crazy after 2002

What's wrong is you stated it as a fact. If you would have said "I am is my favorite album" instead of saying that it's his best album then there would have been no reason to address your post.

This doesn't make sense. I think I am is his best album and that's how I feel. None of this **** is facts, it's all how we feel.
