Not sure where Hypebeast got this from, but

In a recent conversation on the NBA’s Sirius XM channel, the 37-year-old superstar told Coach Mike Krzyzewski that “If something changes, I’ll come back and play next season. If something doesn’t change, this is it for me.”

Nike, of course, is following this story closely, as it originally planned to release the Kobe 11 in 2016. That may change however. Because Kobes, or any signature sneaker for that matter, tend to sell much better when its namesake athlete is wearing them, rumors suggest Nike will move up the release date of what may be the Black Mamba’s final on-court sneaker to sometime next month.

^ if that's gonna be the case, at least give us either the same pair He wears for his last game or a QS ID like the mamba moment. Knowing Nike, He'll have some nice PE on and they'll give us a volt/blue lagoon pair.

I agree with the first part of that statement, but disagree with the second.  A sad day in sports was when Magic announced he was HIV-positive.  A sad day in sports was when Jordan retired from the Bulls after title number 3.

It's more sad to see Kobe struggling with injuries the past few years and for this team to be at the bottom of the standings while he's in the twilight of his career.  We all know Kobe was going to retire soon, and it shouldn't come as a shock to anyone.  

Kobe has done so much for the Lakers, Los Angeles, and the NBA that we shouldn't be sad that he's retiring, but grateful and appreciate that he was a part of it and lasted as long as he did.  

As long as Kobe goes out on his own terms, then we should be happy for him, not mourn over it.

I for one am looking forward to the Kobe 11.  As a lifelong Lakers fan, I'll grab a pair of Kobe 11s regardless of who designed them.

Might these be a pic of a takedown model?  The only colorway I see in the product descriptions using 'volt' for the first five 11 releases is the Easter one, and it doesn't seem to fit the below description.  I also seem to recall the first 'leaked' pics (at least the ones I saw) last year being of the takedown.

But don't you think we sometimes get more "cheesy" logos, little details on some of the takedown models? I don't know... just not 100% sold that they would put those logos on the tongue for the main sig. I could be completely wrong

What's the 1st release? The BHM? Maybe it's specific to that cw like the badges on the current Commanders. Who knows right?

Right -- based on the Commanders, maybe they are going this route w/ logos for the main sigs

Must have more pics lol....the upper is looking like flyknit or mesh 

 right there in the middle right you can see some type flexible-looking stuff

Also if you look closely i think you can see the nike swoosh made up of a scale type design
