Bynum played okay, and definitely should've gotten a few more touches but foul trouble kinda prevented him from really getting any kind of rhythm out there.
Anyway, the game wasn't lost on the offensive end. There's no way this Hornet team should be putting up 100+ on anyone, let alone the defending champs.
I guess you didn't read or couldn't comprehend my post. One or the other, maybe both.
LAKERS are shooting jump shots instead of feeding the ball inside
^ I said that. The ball should be played inside, not outside.

Anyone else see the accident on 9th & Flower after the game??

I couldn't find any articles on it.

People need to realize maybe Pau Gasol just doesn't have it in him. You can't make a soft guy become Brock Lesnar. Lamar Odom and Bynum need to be the go to guy in the next game. Look like the NO coach has figured out a way to attack our front line. Using Carl Landry quickness to attack Gasol and Bynum was a genius move. Did yall see the way NO attack the paint yesterday ? That exactly what their coach want. Attack the Lakers bigs. It create foul trouble for the Lakers and send them to the line. On defense end they flop like crazy and play 2-3 zone to force the Lakers taking 3. And LASTLY they found out a way to attack our dumb backcourt defense. Lakers are infamous for terrible pick and roll defense. Shannon Brown, Kobe , Fisher get screened on every single NO offensive possession. That allow Chris Paul and Jared Jack to score midrange bucket with ease. And when they're not shooting they do pick and roll off the screen. Jared Jack with 18 points coming off the bench

. It's freaking Jared Jack. Terrible Lakers defense , Genius NO offense.

End of Rant. I don't care if we get knock out in the second round or the WFC

damn the lakers lose 1 game n everyone starts arguin with each other n makin bogus claims

laker fans always do this (im no exception) but havent we learned that sometimes it gets bad before it gets great (word to 05-08) besides do u really think mamba aint scoldin the fuuu outta his teammates right now
chill out its one game no need for anarchy
now lets get ready for game 2

Are you $!#+%#% kidding me!? He helped us win two championships, and you question if he has it in him? You're a piss poor excuse of a fan.

i'm concerned yes but lets not panic here. its not an elimination game for crying out loud! i'm just hoping this loss wakes up the Lakers and they can keep their guard up for the rest of the postseason

i'll give Pau a pass for a bad game in game 1 of a first round series their going to win regardless.

if this was game 5 of the nba finals and it was tied 2-2 i'd be pissed off but this was game 1 of the 1st round. everythings going to be ok.

I agree. But i'll admit, I didn't get to watch the game. But when I found out the score, I really was surprised we didn't win. #kanyeshrug

Yeah, if you only saw a box score, I could understand the surprise. If you watched the game, you would have seen us get WORKED by Chris Paul.

The dude played out of his goddamn mind honestly. The stats don't even tell the entire truth. Like I was telling some buddies, he's not averaging 30 pts, 15 assists, and 7 rebounds a game.

And only 3 Turnovers?????

They played like Gods.

We'll adjust, refocus, and be fine. I'm confident in that.

How is he not overrated.

Ya'll forgetting he had Mj, Pip, Shaq, Kobe, Pau.

I mean his teams were stacked. His is a great coach, but overrated as well.

So is Pop overrated too?

Riley had Magic, Kareem, Worthy

Popavich had Duncan, Robinson, Ginobili, Parker

Auerbach had Russell, Cousy, Havlicek, etc

what's your point?

Look at all the stacked teams that didn't win- Phoenix with Nash, Amare, Marion,......Boston with KG, Pierce, Rondo, Allen last year........Portland with Rasheed, Pippen, Jermain Oneal, Stoudamire, Sabonis, Schrempf, Bonzi Wells, Brian Grant.........Sacramento with Webber, Peja, Bibby, Christie, Vlade, Bobby Jackson, Hedo

The point I'm trying to make is that being stacked is not a guaranteed championship....even LA in 2004 was stacked with GP and Malone and couldn't win

Phil is the GOAT

Teams were stacked, but that doesn't always translate to Wins.
So having all the 9 players that Red Auerbach coached during that 60's Celtics run, that are now HOF's, make Auerbach any less of a good coach?  Is he overrated too because of the talent he had?

Im not saying they are not great, because thy certainly are. But i say Pop> Phil.

They took down our '03 team and almost in '04 if it wasn't for Fish .04 shot. Also we were beat in '04, because of defense in which under Phil we were never a defensive team.

I love Phil, but to me he is overrated as a coach not as a winner.

Doug Collins and Del Harris..what do they have in common? They were coaching teams with championship-level talent but they couldn't get the job done....couldn't lead their talent-laden teams to the promised land.

Phil has been blessed, with the talent yes....I can't debate that. But how can you call him overrated knowing the fact that he has taken over for two coaches (see above) for 2 different franchises, and taken the teams of those former coaches to the championship and win. The cores of those teams basically stayed intact, so it's not as if Phil came in with a drastic roster change. Maybe he's not an Xs and Os genius, but he's got 11 rings and it's really hard to argue against that fact.

Please, Riley still lost 3 Finals so it's not like he always won when he was stacked. Still won against Dallas being down 0-2
Our Lakers team>> Portland. We had a prime Shaq who was unstoppable that year.

Same as King;, Kobe, Shaq and help from the refs>> Kings

I'm not saying he is a bad coach. Terific winner.
But serious. Mj took those Bulls to the Eastern finals with Collins for like 2 years in a row. Scottie was still maturing.

Detroit was weaker when they met in '91 and then faced a Lakers team  than was old a depleted.

Same with Lakers Kobe was young with Del. That 2000 team also acquired Shaw, Salley, Harper and Rice was barely traded their a year before.

talent does not equal wins...but a coach that can squeeze the juice out of you and get every instrument to work collectively for one sound, thats equals a good coach. of course you can only really be good as your potiential, there are exceptions, but generally, there's a limit to your talent. Phil has definitely been blessed with teams that had an astronomical potiential, but that cant be held against him, he still push them to do better. Just because you know how to play, doesn't mean you know how to win..

even if .04 never happened, the series would be 3-2 spurs who knows what happens if the lakers win game 6 and they go back to san antonio for game 7, it could go either way honestly

are you forgeting about how the lakers destroyed the spurs 01 team and proceeded to beat them in 5 the next year after that.   the spurs made the necessary moves in the 02 offseason to improve while the lakers had a down year in 02-03
