Official Lebron Retro Thread: Potential Lebron 2 "Dunkman" Retro

truly doubt it.

Nike will cut out the zoom, take out the padding (forgot the name) give us trash leather, and raise the price.

100% guaranteed - it is not in their best interest to have their retro LBJ compete with their inline LBJ model, especially when the latter is retailing for $200+. They will gut the shoe and when they are not running suede on the uppers they'll use stiff plastic 'leather' that will fold, not crease normally.

:smokin respect. I'm scared to wear my pair just incase they drop a retro that I can beat into the ground :lol ...I skateboarded in my original pairs (black/reds and the ASGs) such a well made shoe, they stood up to the grip tape incredibly well because of the sole that comes up the side and that leather patch.

IMO, the Lebron 2 is one the best hoops shoes Nike ever made........  So i cant wait to see how they screw it up.

Glad to see a retro Bron 2. The B-Days are the only pair I still have left and I'm not going to un-DS them at this point, thrashed the black and red pair. Would really like to see a Zoom Generation retro more though than the 2. Just hope the quality is good and they actually have Zoom, not double stacked cardboard like to retro J's.
I still have my pair as well. One of my favorite LeBron shoes

I wonder how the retros will be received. I know that the first few colorways will sell out because they will be hyped up. But I wonder If they will eventually sit like js did back in the 2000s and still be able to pick up days later or even on discount.

These need to retro although, I still have mine pretty much VNDS from 11.16.2006(Release date). Wore them maybe 4 times. I'm curious how these will sell and what the retail will be($150 in 06)

Funny you post this.

My pair finally kicked the bucket yesterday.

Pieces of the sole started coming off as I was walking.

I had a good run with them though. Joints are tank

Would definitely cop if they retroed.

Does anyone else feel that Nike designs past few years are so bland, basic and the same.

Look at these old Lebrons. At least the company was trying new things.

Now, every shoe has the giant swoosh right at the same spot and all the sig shoes look similar as the previous years. This years Kobe is literally the most basic shoe I have ever seen.

There's nothing wrong with Basic but i do agree with the kobes. I think it because of the colorways honestly they been very boring just look at the kd7 thread everyone just lost interest. These older models introduced new things as well as having dope colorways. shoes need both technology and dope colorways to be considered a great sneaker

Agreed 1000% - they all about maximizing profits and reducing costs with their current management. Hence the cookie cutter, one piece/seamless designs with minimal creativity and large swooshes.

^^^ what business isn't about maximizing profit and reducing costs??? They wouldn't be in business let alone dominanting if they weren't

True.

But one of the things that made Nike what they are now is the combination of innovation and marketing.

Now it's more about the marketing and less about innovation.   People on the internet will always fly the 'It's not as good as it used to be' flag, but in this case there's at least a little truth to it.

:lol they already look like garbage with that crown logo. Its not like they couldn't use the OG logo, he's 23 again.
