OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 2024-2025 SEASON THREAD

All I really care about rn is the wins so good win :lol

18-7 is nice but it's deceiving a bit because you burned a lot of your lossss that you were gonna use on the cavs, Spurs, warriors, etc on the Nets pacers the Pistons w/o Jackson, etc :x

However they picked up a few wins I didn't expect so far as well so it's kind of balanced out? 18-7 is about where I thought we would be and as long as we win the games we're supposed to win we'll grab that 2nd seed. Gotta grab another win against SAS now though I think since we burned some Ls to those aforementioned teams.

On to the road trip

Luc is good enough defensively to be a starter on a contending team, but the fact we don't have a wing player who can create his own scoring opportunities -- who isn't Crawford -- is a problem. Teams can contain CP in the playoffs with bigger defenders and Blake can't be counted on to get clutch buckets.

we def need to acquire a starting level SF that can get his own shot in one on one situations. also one that can be a closer if needed.

its glaring now...really always was.

not that we need an "upgrade" at the 3 over LUC. but we need a player, at some position that can get buckets on his own outside of the plays being called on offense.

even if this player comes off the bench and isn't a 3. he just needs to be able to manufacture buckets out of penetration, be able to finish and/or get to the free throw line and knock them down.

Like PCH said. idk where this guy is and where he's coming from. but we need him

this all still boils down to blake griffin. he has made strides in his game. his jumpshot is consistent now, but he has no low post game and he doesn't have the brain cells to punish smaller players in the post and face up and destroy bigger players in the 15 foot area.

as stated in the NBA thread...first quarter of the game vs. gsw blake catches the ball literally on the elbow with his feet inside the free throw line and curry is on him. he faced curry up and curry was so much smaller than him, that i don't even think blake saw him. instead of taking advantage of the mismatch and/or causing players to have to rotate before passing out, he passed immediately to another guarded player in the corner. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE! he does that ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

we wouldn't need a "get your own bucket/get to the basket and the free throw line" guy if blake is the player that he should be right now skills wise and mentally.

in addition ^^^

if blake is that player, he now makes it possible for LRMaM and redick AND crawford to find their 3 point spots and just wait for defensive rotation.

D better be on tonight. The Magic dropped 130 on the Hawks last night. But the Hawks have kind of sucked lately, so maybe that doesn't mean much.

What I wouldn't give for Austin to be consistently aggressive and playing with confidence like this. He's a completely different player when he's playing with confidence. Probably our best player at playing downhill and getting to the rim whenever he wants.

He's just so damn infuriating sometimes man :lol

It was around this time last season where he turned the corner and was at 11ppg a game on over 40% on his 3's. Hopefully the same thing is occurring with Austin this year

Over his last 10 games Austin is at 10ppg on over 53% from 3. He was literally awful shooting the ball to start the season. was like 7/34 at one point from 3 lol variance is crazy with him

Yep he's on fire :lol [emoji]128293[/emoji] #BurnerSquad

Great first half.

Playing with a much better pace and bounce. Austin, CP, the entire team has been on fire from deep as of late.

Clips playing at a top 10 pace over the past 10 games, so we're going to give up pts, but I still think we can be better on that end.

Of note,

A lot of austin'/s struggles (when he does struggle) may be because he plays with the bench. He actually may be a much better shooter than given credit for, due to the fact that the quality of shots he gets with the bench isn't all that great

I say that because since he's been in LAC he's been downright awesome as a starter in the regular season and playoffs. We obviously can't start him but Still, he's been really good whenever he starts for us whenever he does.

Good win to start the trip. Not thrilled with how many points we gave up, but a win is a win. On to Miami.

I think it's kind of hilarious that we've basically abandoned the red unis. Can't remember the last time I saw them. But good riddance.

Talk about backing into a win...yikes. Second half offense was pretty dreadful. Will need to be better to beat Washington on Sunday.

That said, a win is a win. Loved the clinching bucket by DJ, especially after Whiteside running his mouth about him.

Agreed I really dont like them. Its never too early for another rebrand because it hurts to watch the current unis on a nightly basis.

I'm at the point where I don't care how we win unless it's against CLE/GS/HOU/MEM/SAS. The other games mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. Kust stack as many wins as possible.

Tbh at this point idc how we win against them either as long as we do :lol

The way the Clips have played against the elite already this year showed me how great this team can be potentially.

Right now it's all about getting wins / positioning

20-7. Second best record through 27 games in team history, with over half of those 7 losses being fake? I'll take it

^^^ Yeah, I was thinking the other day how were better than our record since 3 of the 7 losses were on that terrible trip and at least 2 of those were most fatigue. But I have the terrible GSW loss keeping me from getting to ahead of myself.

this is it for the CLIPPERS squad this year,,THEY dont go to the FINALS this season,,its time to break the egg,,the BIG 3(CP3,Blake and DJ) needs to be separated

Yeah man to keep it 100,

One of those losses was to the pacers when we were up 15,

Another was to Detroit after we already beat them by 40,

Another to bkn which we had an 19 pt lead and beat them by 40 the week before,

Memphis shot 15/26 and needed a jamal Crawford turnover late for them to barely win,

You throw those losses out in which we probably should have won all those games we're at least 24-3 with resounding wins over the cavs raptors and Spurs

So yeah our record is 20-7 which is great, but really doesn't show how great lac has been this year, gsw loss aside. Just gotta keep winning games you're supposed to. No more bad losses

7 losses and 3 of them were to teams we beat the **** out the week before basically. *shrugs*

Abysmal execution in the second half of the the 4th today, both on offense and defense. Really let this one slip away.

Oh, and we now fall to 4th in the West with the Spurs coming up this week. Sweet.
