OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 2024-2025 SEASON THREAD

It’s time for Doc to go. We just need a new voice. Whoever we may bring in may not be better - IDC - we just need different.

Yeah, what happened today is unacceptable. Completely. We got our asses handed to us at home by a 3-5 team.

Cringeworthy offense right now. More east and west. Desperately need a guard that can get downhill and make decisions effectively. Hit rollers on time, get below the FT line, in the paint, etc.

Telecast harping on the defense but the offense feeds into that. Poor offense, turnovers, etc. leading to horrible floor balance, mismatches, etc.

12:30 start didn't help though. Firmly believe LAC is better than this weekend worth of games.

The comeback was nice, if untimately unsuccessful. I take back nothing else I said today.

This weekend was a disaster. And I don’t think that an exaggeration. We will be below .500 within a week.

Also, this Bruce Bowen thing isn't working at all

Seems like the clips are only capable of making bad moves lol... I hated Mike Smith but I watch clipper games on mute now I can’t take it.

Also they need to look at sending DJ somewhere for a solid playmaker... this team as is going nowhere fast.

DJ for Bledsoe ?

That comeback was so wack lmao **** that.

And lawdog1 lawdog1 you're right, we really could be behind the 8 ball in the standings by this time next week. Or not, but we'll see. The team is in dire need of a point guard, and not being able to protect homecourt with two awful, lackluster losses is for sure concerning. Effort and results are something to watch for this upcoming week.

Bledsoe wants out so I’d like to think they can manage obtaining him for a package centered around Austin.

Maybe include Bryce and/or Wes

DJ for Bledsoe ?

Don't think the Suns would be willing to do that straight up, as DJ isn't young, is in a contract year, and may be a max contract type this summer.

But it's certainly something I'd entertain if PHX would.

I'd do it in a heartbeat. Austin's young enough that they may bite. But DJ being a FA this summer kind of makes trading him to a non contender hard. Perhaps Boston, if they continue playing well could convince themselves that With DJ they can get to a finals appearance and we could get something out of them.

They also aren't as bad as they showed this weekend. The back to back 12:30 games is a raw deal, and the Clips have always struggled in games in this timeslot.

Nevertheless, this next week is for sure something to keep an eye on. 8 of the next 9 are on the road.

A trade with Boston would be ideal because that would most likely mean Al horford and the pick next year.

Boston would hands down be a much better team... But I don’t see them hooking up the clippers like that lol

I know I’m in the minority, but I don’t mind Bowen. Maybe because he sometimes talks about SoCal high school hoops of my vintage. He’s not a bad analyst and I think him and Ralph are starting to get more comfortable together.

Bowen’s growing on me. He has a lot of awkward moments but I think he’ll get better with time. When you remember that the other option was Reggie Miller, bowen becomes even better.

We need Milos.

Just rewatched the game and what stood out the most to me is something I’ve been saying since Milos went down. Pat and Lou should be starting. I know Austin’s numbers are way better as a starter but he’s such a ball stopper. Lou PnR actually work because he can shoot and he can aftually finish.

Also, Lou is so much better than jamal lol

HIM HIM bro I never thought of starting Lou but man you're on point with that. I totally agree with you.

More so than him actually finishing, he's actually been much better as a playmaker this year than people realize. His chemistry with Willie, DJ, Blake, has been really good.

Would be hella undersized defensively, but you'd just hope that Pat could tread water on that end. Starting two 6'1 guards is sketchy af but offensively I'd be 100% for it. Also you give Austin the entire 6 man role.

Yea, meant to mention his playmaking. He’s Jamal with more bball IQ. Sure he forces shots but most of the time he’s looking to get to the line and he actually looks for the open man off drives.

At the very least Doc should be subbing Austin out first and have Pat and Lou play together a bit. He continues to do it the other way around. Don’t have the time to look up the numbers right now but I’d be interested to see what our best 5 man lineups are right now.

Don’t think we’re 4-0 good, but don’t think we’re 1-4 bad either. I think 44-47 wins is about right.

Taking into account lineups that actually have tangible minutes played,

The Pat/Austin/Gallo/Blake/DJ lineup actually has an overall plus -8.3 rating in over 200 minutes played.

However, what may be telling is the fact that DJ is a plus -7.4 w/Lou on the floor, & Pat Beverely is also a plus -7.2 so far when he's on the floor with Lou.

Clips so far are a plus -2.2 w/Lou on the floor this year overall. Per NBA.com

So from this data, to me it definitely suggest that it's something worthy to look at.

Because i'm looking at some numbers now:

That combo of Lou/Pat/Wejo/BG/DJ that brought us back today was the first time Doc has used it. They had an overall net rating of plus -43.

With Gallo potentially down with that hip contusion, i'm sure Doc will start Wes in his place. That lineup of Wejo + AR/Pat/BG/DJ have only played 5 minutes together, but are a plus -50.

HIM HIM the starting lineup you mentioned has only played about 7 minutes together this season (Lou/Pat/Gallo/Blake/DJ) but they're a plus -17 on the year. Two man combo of Pat and Lou is also a positive at plus -4.5 in 55 minutes together on the floor.

Definitely think as the season goes on you'll see lou more with the starters. I'd bet on it.

^^^ I’m on board with more Lou. He’s definitely a better all around player than I️ thought, particularly when it comes to passing. He also has big shot making capabilities, so I’d like to see him in late game situations.

Also, any update on Gallo? He going to be good to go for the trip?
