OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 2024-2025 SEASON THREAD

looks like everyone is/was thinking the same thing as i am. up 20, 6min to go. given our history...gotta hold out and see it thru.

rivers can find his rhythm again slashing to the rim.
speights eats up opposing bench big men. he is the ultimate "better than your bench big men, but not good enough to start" BIG MAN

we didn't even have a great game all around. it was a good game, but not a great game. effort was there.

but the narrative will be, 'the cavs laissez faire attitude" in lieu of, the clippers putting it on the cavs.

i really really think less is more with jamal crawford. i don't think he should have the green light everytime he steps on the court. he needs to be a spot up shooter at times and not so ball dominant in per situations etc.

IMO

Spot on with Crawford. He's been an excellent spot up shooter for years. It's when he dribbles and dances and blows up sets with his 1v1 game that is irritating

And his defense of course

agreed. LUC slashing to the rim and disrupting on D was a great thing. he caught lebron with his thumb in his butt a few times on backdoor cuts as well.

and that stagger with rivers with the starters worked tonight.

Luc really is an elite defender. For sure had LebLeb frustrated. Which means the more I see him benched late in games in favor of Crawford, the more I'm going to want to punch Glenn in his face.

Yea Homerism aside, he's in the convo for DPOY so far. Has no shot to win because he is Luc but he deserves a mention. There was a play where he switched onto Love and I told my brother, "turnover coming up. Luc proceeds to poke the ball away. Love him. If he can just take 200 corner 3's evey day, he'll be the perfect fit.

Doc, stop playing Pierce. Is Wes out of the rotation now?

he's (LUC) gonna really play dividends come playoff time. in a potential matchup with gsw, he will draw KD duties primarily. and thats a relief because before the season, i think we all thought that may have to be blake.

Luc was the individual standout, but the whole team finally played defense resembling what they did during the first few weeks. Let's hope they keep it up.

Tonight is going to be tough because it's the last game of the trip, but maybe the W last night will energize the team.

One day I'm gonna go back to see how mad I was at Doc for playing/starting Luc early last season. What an idiot I am :rollin

I was so bummed out the last 2 days whenever I thought about bball. Really thought we were gonna be on a 4 game losing streak. I woke up today happy as hell that it's a Friday and my obnoxious coworker won't have **** to say. He hasn't dropped by my office yet today :lol wonder why

Meh, I think most of us felt that way. The thing is though, Luc is markedly better this year than last season. For sure on offense and D too. He was solid defensively last season, but not consistently locking star players up like he is now. I don't know what'a changed exactly for him, but there is a difference between this year and last.

Man by almost every metric, Luc has been the best wing defender in the league this year. Law is 100% right, something happened with Luc as far as improvement is concerned

Kawhi and Lebron this year have shot a combined 8-27 from the field against him :x

Damn I didn't think JJ would have another career year but my God :eek

If he keeps this up man...

Luc's improvement on both ends has completely changed my outlook on how good we can be this year

I mean, he's just...let me stop before I say something crazy abt him. All Ima say is that Luc playing with confidence on offense? Yeah you can save the "clips need a 3" narrative. He's just that good

Luc's improvements have come simply from doing the right things on offense. not sure where that huge leap of defensive prowess came from. but they say defense is strictly about desire. offensively, he shoots open corner 3s, and cuts without the basketball making himself available for easy buckets. he also doesnt settle for contested jumpshots. he will put the ball on the floor and get something better for himself.

IMO

I predicted 4-2 for this trip. I can live with 3-3 because we beat the Cavs (though I'm still kind of pissed about the Nets game).

Get revenge on the Pacers Sunday, then we get a couple days off before the Dubs come to town.

Gotta avenge the loss. Put the paws on these dudes today. Hope they're not looking ahead to Wednesday.

Wonder if Doc rests CP tonight? Seems like he'd be the one who's up for an off night. But maybe not since we have two full days between this one and the Warriors game.

The Clippers secret weapon this year? Luc Mbah a Moute. He's making 40% of his 3's while taking 2 a game. He's had 5 games where he's been a +21 or higher and leads the league in net rating at 23.7. And he's been an all world defender for LAC this season. Players are shooting a full 7% worse when guarded by Mbah a Moute. That includes the likes of Damian Lillard, Russell Westbrook, Lebron James, and Kawhi Leonard. He may not be what Clippers fans envisioned the answer to their wing issue to look like, but I'm not so sure if the Clippers can't win with him as their wing anymore.

:hat :hat
