At this point, you’d just want the arms to get right by September and hope the fellas can maintain the division lead. At least most of them won’t have too much mileage on their arms by October, but they need to be in a groove.

We are very fortunate the NL West is buns, injuries have sucked. Might be an all-time IL team.

tbh I’m indifferent about where they’re at right now. They have their fair share of guys who are injured but teams like the Braves have similar issues if not worse. So injuries are a moot point. Outside of nailing the trade deadline, getting guys back later this season will be a big addition for them.
There’s nothing they can accomplish this regular season that they haven’t already accomplished in the past multiple 100 win seasons of years past. Even had they won that Phillies series earlier this week. The sentiment would’ve been that’s cool but can they do it in October. So getting swept really doesn’t move the needle. It’s better to have some 9th inning implosions like these last two Tigers games before the deadline so there’s more urgency to pursue potential upgrades. Beyond that, it’s good they’re having some regular season struggles that they haven’t so much experienced in years past. Running through the regular season unchallenged never really works well for them come October.
It’s a veteran team with plenty of talent. They know what they need to do and that October is what they’ll be judged off of. If they suffer another early October exit, especially if it’s to another underdog wild card team. I’m sure Dave Roberts will be fired and changes will be made.
