You dont hear alot of people bigging up wale or mentioning him as much as he should so i dont think he is that popular, but one thing i can say is his whole ambitious movement inspired alot of young girls to go get that degree and to be on their sheet. For that he deserve a hip hop Nobel.

Wale's style doesn't really lend itself well to mainstream success. I'm impressed with the career he's carved out for himself, but people will never look at him in the same way they look at J.Cole, Drake, or Kendrick even if his music is comparable.
