Our bullpen is on point...if they can stay healthy. Even Bruney looked like he lost some fat

Gardner is a speed demon, he's doing a lot better thank if Melky had started the season at center

If you ask most analysts they all say that he has arguably the nastiest array of stuff around. His curve and his 2 seam and 4 seam are sick. Adda Change to that and you have the perfect combo. But his problem has always been the injuries. During the YES special a few weeks back he said that he wantsto prove all the doubters wrong, but also admitted that he won't pitch if something feels wrong because that's what caused his Tommy John surgeryearlier.

I also forgot where I read it; maybe ESPN, maybe SportingNews, or maybe SI. But they said that he is mentally tougher to handle the NY media and pressure thanCC. This was just after both were signed.

I'm slowly, slowly beginning to like my job...

Standing around with control of the remote, watching the game, working right along side hot broads

So, I am not around for the game at all yesterday, and the Yankees win. Maybe I should be gone for the rest of the season

.

Finally nice to have a win. Burnett was on point! And of course, Nick Swisher...

I saw the highlights of the game plenty of times last night. Someone needs to .gif Burnett's fist pump asap (seriously, can someone get on that?).

Okay, onto the Royals.

Friday:
LHP Andy Pettitte (14-14, 4.54 in 2008) vs. RHP Sidney Ponson (8-5, 5.04 in 2008), 4:10 p.m., YES, WCBS 880
Saturday: LHP CC Sabathia (0-1, 12.46) vs. LHP Horacio Ramirez (1-4, 4.34 in 2008), 7:10, YES, WCBS 880

Sunday: RHP Joba Chamberlain (4-3, 2.60 in 2008) vs. RHP Gil Meche (0-1, 1.29), 2:10, YES, WCBS 880

Quick question to my out of state Yankees Fans I just switched to FiosTV and noticed this mornng that YES HD was apart of the lineup its not listed and when icalled the verizon folks they were pretty much clueless about it. Does anyone know if this is a permanent addition to lineup?

We know all about Ponson. If we don't get to him early then there is something wrong with this team

. I would have liked to have seenPena starting at 3rd (or even throw Nady over there), but whatever.

When I find the Royals lineup, I'll post it.

AJ pitched very well his 1st start
pimp.gif
, hopefully he can keep it up and not become Carl Pavano 2.0.

@ this thread being almost 25 pages, just 3 games into the season.

Speaking of Carl Pavano an excerpt from the Yankee Years really sticks out to me. Before the start of '07 Wild Card series Torre asked Billy Crystal toprepare a bit for team to loosen them up for the series. He sent them a videotape before the start of the series.

.......He then launched into a 12 minute comedy segment in which, with the help of fellow comedian Robin Williams, he poked fun at Jorge Posada, Derek Jeter, Melky Cabrera and others. The players loved it. Crystal turned serious at the end of his bit he implored the Yankees to make sure that they played with an effort that would leave them with no regrets. He talked about how lucky they were to have this opportunity and their health."And there is someone we should all pray for," Crystal said, "because he has not been blessed with the same great health. So before you go out there, when you hit your knees, say a prayer.........for Carl Pavano!"

The room erupted in laughter.

"Cashman didn't think it was very funny." Torre said.
