I don't hate em at all. Just certain typical fans. I got a fan at work telling me yesterday that he hopes Jeter doesn't play another game and not get to 3,000. Met fans like that are the reason their team will never win. They hitch their happiness to the failure of the Yankees.

There's really no reason to hate the Mets. I was born in '87, have no memories of the Mets being good, and when they have been, they've choked. Unlike other Mets fans I find no satisfaction seeing the "collapse" that the Mets have gone through in the past decade. First and foremost I'm a Yankees fan, then a BASEBALL fan. Why do I have to hate the Mets? Never understood those Mets fans sometimes...

EDIT - So who cares if Reyes is the best shortstop in NYC right now? I know that's the most classic defense of Jeter but I'm actually a fan of Reyes. Alot of my friends who are Mets fans have been so down on him the last couple years and now people are like

Mets fans. I said last year that if the Yankees had the opportunity to swap Reyes and Jeet from purely a BASEBALL standpoint, anyone who is against that is smoking rocks. Truth is truth. Who wouldn't want a 28 year old switch hitting shortstop who has range for days? C'mon now...
