AND Eric Bledsoe or Avery Bradley. We liked both but drafted Bledsoe then moved him along to LAC because we thought signing Royal Ivey would be better than another rookie.
That said, we got better by trading JG. It balanced our lineup. We couldn't survive in the West with him starting at 4 and at the time, Ibaka wasn't nearly as good as he is so our starting 5 was Nenad Krstic. I would like to have him back now as a 6th man, although not at that price. The year after we made the trade our playoff run was Nene and the Nuggets, Gasol/Randolph and the Grizzlies, then Dirk and Chandler so making our lineup bigger was crucial. Jeff Green and Nenad frontcourt wasn't trying to see none of those matchups
Then Harden was seen as a bust until after the trade where he got minutes and opportunity, so hindsight is a bit unrealistic at this point
Boston got dupped though, the original trade was for Harden and both teams went all the way through with the particulars of the trade then at the last minute Presti was like, "how bout Jeff Green instead?" and Ainge took it still
