I think Marcus was implying that ACB hasn't watched any Rocket games and was just throwing something out that sounded popular.

At least that was how I took it.

........
you haven't even watched a game
.......

I'm a big fan of Bill Simmons. That being said, his addition to the pregame show on ESPN is reminiscent of when Dennis Miller was on MNF. I was :lol at a lot of the things he was saying

1 - Odom being out of b-ball in 4 months

2 - Wrestlemania 15 (?) being one of MSG's best moments - Wilbon was perplexed :lol Anything that gets Wilbon's panties in a bunch is fine w/ me

3 - Telling Magic that he would be overpaying for Zach Greinke. Which obviously Magic didn't get.

And for the love of God, why the hell is Magic still employed by ESPN? Dude absolutely sucks. Pains me to say this, but Chris Broussard brings much more to the table than Magic.

PRegame show as a whole is awful.

he did say asik has a chance to lead the league in boards...proceeds to grab 19
but yeah, simmons isnt comfortable in front of the camera. i'd give it some time, though.

Oh, no...I meant I agreed with a lot of what he was saying - but some of it came off as humor that was WAY over Magic's head or got Wilbon perplexed. That's what I was :lol at.

The Laker funeral suit line. :lol

There's going to be so many shots at the Lakers this season from Simmons.

Edit:

I just hope I don't have to hear "I tweeted this earlier...I tweeted this over the weekend"

His humor is top notch, so I'll enjoy watching him befuddle Magic all year long, and I already know he'll talk down about the Lakers all year, that's a given, but if I have to listen to him bring up the Celtics for no damn reason, like his podcasts when he mentions that Jordan was lucky he didn't have to go thru Reggie Lewis....... :lol Or another Len Bias mention, maaaaaaaan. :{

It's tragic what happened to those 2, but we don't need to mention it every single time 20-25 years later ya know?

lol @ the people that were saying Kevin Martin would provide enough scoring but less playmaking. He is not even close in any of those categories. Sad part is that Harden is so much better at defense as well.

Harden averaged just under 17 pts a game last season as the 6th man. Martin had 15 and 19 thus far. Is it that farfetched that he could average 17 a game?

I had Jared Sullinger starting by December. He gets his first start tonight in place of Brandon Bass.

If I wanted to hear Simmons' long winded nonsense about pop culture or connecting first half highlights to something totally unrelated, I'd listen to his podcast or read his articles. I get his style and I really do enjoy it at times, but he needs to dial it back in this new gig. He knows the sport, so just stick to that... save the rest for Grantland.

I don't think scoring was the issue with Martin. The issue was that OKC would be less dynamic without Harden and would probably end up having a lot more iso/running off screen plays. That may effect their offense as a whole and may not be as good as they were last year on offense. I mean, when you lose one of the most efficient players in the league, its pretty difficult to replace.

Think about it...they were #2 in offensive efficiency last season. Do you see them even being close to that this season? Maybe top 10, but I don't see them cracking top 5.

What's going on with Denver right now? I haven't watched any of their games, but it seems as if their offense isn't looking that great.

No ones arguing the fact that Martin isnt nearly the playmaker or overall player Harden is. If he was, Houston wouldnt have given OKC Lamb and draft picks with him. I was just responding to the guy that thought it was laughable that Martin could score points playing on that OKC squad.

This. Magic says some of the dumbest **** ever and people will believe him or let it slide because hes Magic Johnson.

From what I saw, Clippers looked better than the Lakers.

More depth. More chemistry. More athleticism.

And yet we here talking about preseason :lol
oh.

He obviously compared the lakers to the clippers in preseason....preseason don't mean **** unless you trying to make the team

Similar things were said last year...
oh.

Hasheem is killing right now on both ends. James Harden still sucks since the finals. Shouts to OK native and OU grad, Stacey King as well.
oh.

:lol

My original point was to remind quik similar things were said last season about the Clippers-Lakers, but the Lakers still managed to finish with the better record.

You won't get an argument from me about both teams losing in the second round (though the Lakers were more competitive in their series in comparison to the Clippers).
oh.
Rockets f---ed up. Harden is not worth Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, and two future picks. Kevin Martin is almost as good as Harden right now and Jeremy Lamb is gonna be serious in a couple of years.
oh.

So I'm hearing that Nash has a fibula fracture in his leg and will miss about a week. I got the same injury last year when I got hit by a car and was in a walking boot for 10 weeks. So this tells me his fracture is very minor.
