Nets team as constructed isn't winning anything, they're going to be like the Hawks first or second round exit every year.

Even if you amnesty him you still have to pay him, it just doesn't count against the salary cap. For that much money you might as well play him. The hawks were crazy to give him 19 mil a year, and the nets even crazier for taking on that contract.

Dude makes more than lebron, Durant, and Chris Paul...that's right nets fans, joe Johnson is the 4th highest paid player in the L...see how far that money goes over the next few years

If they amnesty, someone else picks up the tab

no

the team still pays the player

the new team pays the remaning for what they sign him for.

say Kobe is amnestied and Bobcats get him and they get him for 2 million. Bobcats would pay 2 million, Lakers would still pay $28 mill.

it comes off the books but it still has to be paid

Since it's not hard to make the Finals on the East, Phil Jackson could take the Nets to the next level. Ecf minimal guarantee.

They got all the right pieces for him. Phil Jackson like big guards and center who can score.

fair to say you like this current era of basketball>90s basktball?
Fair to say I don't know how you gathered that from my comment.

With the way the CBA was restructured...I doubt very seriously he'll be on a roster year in and year out that will dominate enough for him to "own the next 8 seasons. Pat Riley did a damn good job re-tooling this year. That will become much harder to do as the years move on. His current running mate is 31 BTW.

And?

You think Another SUPERSTAR won't want to go play with Lebron?

Who exactly?

Which of these young dudes you see taking a pay cut to go play with Lebron?

Bron-Wade-Bosh was one thing. Those dudes knew each other. You think a Kevin Durant...or a James Harden....or a Derrick Rose gonna take a pay cut to help the guy who's prevented them from rings go get some more in 5 years?

Doubt it.

I could see Irving coming to MIA. Lebron is slowly behind the scenes preparing for when Wade retires in 5 years. Irving coming to Miami is bound to happen.

does phil want to be gm/president AND coach? is he gonna coach full time or bring on guys like rambis and shaw.

Keep that pipe dream alive.

The CBA all but destroyed the idea of a "big three" ever happening again...and not to discredit the guy but that's what it took for Bron to get over the hump.

If Miami is where he'll be for the forseable future...it'll be interesting to see how they mold that roster around Bron into his 30s.

dont think Phil wants to coach anymore, hes looking to be in the office and end up a GM soon i bet.

and Phil wouldnt coach the Nets. Maybe if they gave him 20 mill a year :lol

Lebron at the 4 in his 30s is still better than any other 4

$20M is nothing to a boss like prokh. :lol
they took on joe's contract so money isnt really an issue

These "NBA Cares" commercials are so fake and dishonest.

You telling me Carmelo Anthony cares about "Giving Back" to the community when dude won't give the ball back to his teammates :|
There isn't a singular correlation between the two instances you just mentioned. Were you going for the lulz?

Nah, wasn't going for the "lulz"

Was taking a shot at Carmelo, hopefully it's OK with you.

Riley and company will do whatever to keep Bron and talent around him, Arison ain't scared of the luxury tax either. Even if the "big 3" era is over, that will mean it will be just as hard for other teams to build formidable rosters to challenge them. You can look at OKC with KD, Russ and Ibakas contract, Miami can't do something similar when the time comes? Bron has already taken less money to win since he makes enough off the court, don't think he'll have a problem with it again if it means he can continue to win
