No1 in this years draft is going to take a team out of the basement. More than likely the same teams that are vying for the #1 pick this year will be in a similar position next year.

Outside of the Cavs who were very injury stricken last year. I dont think many teams are going to get much better through the draft this year.

So, you think the Cavs are going to make a leap, huh?

I don't see it.

I'm seeing Wiz from the East, taking a leap. Especially if Wall can continue growing as a player overall.

They proved that they can play .500 ball when Wall is on the floor. I think they should be in the mix for the 8th seed at the minimum next year.

Also, random....if NY/Den never made the blockbuster Melo deals, where would both teams be today?

If Wall is healthy and management doesn't do anything too dumb this off season the Wiz will definitely be much better than they were last season.

Ujiri made out like a bandit.

I think both teams needed the trade at the time. But now the funny thing is Denver lacks a superstar go-to scorer when the going gets tough. And NYK seemingly lacks quality depth and scoring when Melo and JR don't or can't carry the offense.

I mean im not putting them in the playoffs. But I think 10 or 11 seed in the East isnt out of the question. So coming from basically dead last in the East I guess you could say thats a leap technically.

Soooo...the wizards are ahead of the Cavs in terms of growth right now....lulz.

They aren't? They had more wins and played MUCH better basketball than a lot of EC teams in the 2nd half of the season.

Is this going to be one of those debates where you provide no insight and fall back yet again?

Understood...fair enough.

Well I provided no response/ insight last time because certain NT members from Minnesota, Oklahoma and Idaho like putting words in my mouth during debates.

The cavs will have 4 of top 35 picks in this draft. They have 2 sophomores going into next who's made the All-Rookie's squad. Tristan Thompson was probably top 5 in most improved over the last year. Anderson Varejao is still clean-up monster when thrown in games. Mike Brown's defense minded ability will spill into this team.

And I haven't even mentioned Kyrie yet.

I would say the cavs are probably in the best position going forward out of all the lottery teams......of course someone will scream that I'm being biased :rolleyes

^^^ Neutral observer here -- I think the Cavs future is bright, but I think they're still a couple years away from making a playoff push. I think the Wiz can do it next year, as, right now, they have a better mix of young talent and solid vets. In contrast, aside from Varejao, all of the Cavs talent is still really young. 4 picks in this draft are not going to help the Cavs win now.

So, beyond next season its probably debatable, but I think the Wiz are more poised to make a jump during the next season.

RT @dailythunder: Kevin Durant has donated $1 million to the Red Cross for Tornado relief.

This is cool. Good for KD.

Kings gonna win the lotto. Stern always picks his fav. Team number 1 and he proves how much he loves them already

Yes 100% the Wizards are ahead of the Cavs in terms of growth. Plus they have more depth. You better hope the Cavs strike gold on all 4 picks.

What Wall was able to do when he got healthy was amazing. They were playing +.500 ball beating real good teams. As much as I like Kyrie, Wall/Beal > Kyrie/Dion.

The only thing in the Cavs favor is if Varajeo stays healthy. Idc about Tristan, he's never gonna get over the hump imo.

Hats off to KD and Matty Kemp on donating and supporting a good cause.

LTB: KLJ and I are equivalent to you and Spurs fans.

Nope Orlando. Cavs lose Lebron.., 1st overall, hornets lose cp3 first overall, Orlando loses Dwight....... There it is

I need to see wins. Doesn't matter how much young talent they have if they're still a middling 20-25 win squad.

*What's the probability of either Kanter or Favors being moved on draft night?

I would hope the Jazz are smart enough not to move Favors / Kanter, nice duo to build with.

Wall and co should push for that 7th/8th seed next year.
