Duncan's "consistency" is partly directly related to him being teamed up with Robinson, Manu, and Parker all his career. Like I said before, He has never been on a trash team yet he has consistently failed to defeat real serious opponents except for 2003. You could argue that those Laker teams were already on a downwards spiral though. I remember how he was praised for the '99 ring and then the same spurs team was destroyed in 2001 and 2002. The only time he was able to dominate was in 2003 when he was just unstoppable.

In 2004 his team basically gave up after fisher's shot :{. In 2005 the best competition they had was the 1 hit wonders Pistons. 2006 they choked against dallas who were known as a choking team. They basically had no competition in 2007. In 2008 they lose to a Laker team that did not even have Bynum. He was not able to stop Gasol :lol .

Are people going to overlook the 2009, 2010,2011 and 2012 NBA playoffs? Consistently eliminated out of the playoffs despite still having a prime Parker and a better than average SG in Manu. Not to mention all those good role players.

Yeah he is a great player but he has benefited from having a solid cast around him probably more than any superstar in the last 14 years.

The first time Garnett had a decent team around him he won a championship :{ . Shaq was a better big man than him for at least 3 years and Garnett was clearly better than him in 2004 despite being on a mediocre team compared to the Spurs. Garnett and the Wolves had that WCF stolen from them by the refs. He should have at least gone to the finals against the Pistons that year. It is a myth that he has been the best big man during all of his career or that he has been consistently great. Maybe in the regular season :lol

I put him in the top 15 right now but not top 10. For all we know, the Heat will just sweep the Spurs :{

You have some good points but I would say Duncan made a lot those guys seem better than they were. I'm a Spurs fan and Duncan is the cornerstone of that franchise without him, we were on our way to being the Atlanta Hawks at best

And in case you were wondering, no, I never saw Bill Russel, Wilt, the Big O or Jerry West play. I'm old, but I'm not that old.
I wasn't going to go there today

Someone explain to me how Dwyane Wade's foul is a flagrant 1? That's not even a basketball play. He literally just jumped in the air and elbowed dude in the head.

And don't hit me with that "he was in his way," crap. If you really believe that, you either don't play basketball at all or you're another Internet tough guy because I guarantee NO ONE is doing that in a pick-up game. Because you definitely gonna catch one for that type of ****.

There was physical behavior on both sides. They can't punish both.

Yeah that Wade elbow had NOTHING to do with Basketball on a professional court or pickup

Thats ust a dirty play no way to defend it

I'll take it a step further and say its silly to rank players you've never even seen play on your list.

*rock hand clap gif*

Lets add the fact that I consider myself an elder NTer 27. I was born MJ's rookie year and really couldn't comprehend the details of basket ball till about 10 or 11. So if you where born in the 90's why is MJ your favorite? By the time you where like 7 MJ was on his way out.

Right, because no one can just look up Michael's entire hoops career on YouTube right? :rolleyes

I wonder why Spo isnt going to that high pick n roll that worked really well last year with lebron/wade and whoever HIbbert is guarding? 8o
At that point last year, Bosh was down, so Battier was starting along side Turiaf. Bron was running at the 4/5 a lot and Battier was at the 3(offense)/4(defense) in most cases, allowing for shooters to be the ones flaring on the screen.

Bron at the 4 was giving them absolute HELL. We will see if Spoelstra can get more movement in the offense, just as he did last year and hopefully use Joel Anthony as another body for Hibbert.

Wade wasn't suspended because he makes the league a lot of money. Wade missing a playoff game would make a lot of customers angry. The nba doesn't want to infuriate customers that are willing to dish out big bucks. Wade could knock someone over the head with a baseball bat and the league would still have to review it and weigh their options. He's an entitled scumbag that plays the good guy role in the media.

If someone elbows wade the exact same way, first we'd see an mma fight, next he'd whine to the officials, and the person that elbowed him would be served a subpoena and be escorted to prison.

Still can't believe george hill said the only thing scarier than lebron is god. That's a grown *** man saying some **** like that lol smh

I never wish harm on anyone, but Vogel needs to enlist a goon and have wade touched. Dude thinks he's high and mighty and can get away with murder. Put bill lambeer on a 10 day.
