Wait, someone is saying it's lottery protected? Anyone? 8o (for the record, I have no idea how we'd be so lucky as to lottery protect our pick, that don't seem right) But can someone check?
1000 :Nthat

Interpret however you can. :lol. Super confusing.

2013 first round draft pick to Phoenix
The L.A. Lakers will send the least favorable of their own 1st round pick (top-14 protected), Cleveland's own 2013 1st round pick, Sacramento's own 1st round pick (top-13 protected) and Miami's 2013 1st round pick to Phoenix. If the L.A. Lakers' 1st round pick is within the top-14 selections, Phoenix will automatically receive the L.A. Lakers' 1st round pick. [L.A. Lakers-Phoenix, 7/11/2012]

^^^Without Pau and Dwight, this Lakers team might be worse than the Smush Parker-Chris Mihm era squad. Yikes.

Damn, that Suns GM must be birdman hand rubbing now when people said he gave up Nash way too easy for some late picks due to Lakers team makeup and the assumption of a deep playoff run. That Suns gm is patting himself on the back.

Lol, I think that means whichever pick is the lowest in draft order, is the one the Suns get (least favorable). But then it says that if the pick is in the top 14 it also goes to the Suns. But then it also says that that pick is top 14 protected, so I'm not really sure how that works.

Sunsception

I don't get it, we don't have those teams first rounders????? Where the hell you get that from?

More details:
Cleveland has the right to swap the least favorable of their own 2013 1st round pick, Miami's own 2013 1st round pick (top-10 protected) and Sacramento's own 2013 1st round pick (top-13 protected) with the L.A. Lakers own 2013 first round pick (top-14 protected). If the L.A. Lakers own 2013 first round pick is #1-#14, then the L.A. Lakers' obligation to Cleveland shall be extinguished. [Cleveland-L.A. Lakers, 3/15/2012]

Essentially the Suns will get the Lakers' pick after CLE-LA swap or they will get the Lakers' pick (with no CLE-LA swap) straight up even if it's top 14...
I think 8o

I think the suns in all way are all owed by those teams, it's just worded funny.

Saying its the least favorable of those picks, but then it goes on to say that if they're a lottery team, the pick is theirs.

I got that from realgm.

Google "nba draft picks owed," and you'll find what you need.
