Cavs aren't going to beat GSW/HOU, but at least they're fun to watch again. I would've hated watching that pre-trade deadline team make the finals.

Raptors 24-4 at home and will most likely keep the #1 seed but who really believes these dudes??

Idk, they've got an overall squad and Derozan has emerged as their best player and has refined his gm. Lowry's the one who usually has the worse case of the yips, maybe it won't matter so much this yr

say you take the cavs at +1200 to win the ship. let's use $100 as an example, so 100 to win 1200.
if the rockets or warriors make it to the finals (highly likely), they'll be anywhere from -300 to -600 to win. let's use -450 for example, so 450 to win 100.

if you put 900 on the west team to win, it would be 900 to win 200.
you would also have cavs to win, which is 100 to win 1200.
so you're guaranteed either 300 (if the cavs win) or 100 (if the rox/warriors win). obviously you can experiment with different odds/wager amounts to get a more equal hedge on both sides, or you can use a hedge calculator

Thought that was rhetorical; didn’t think he needed a real explanation. Nice breakdown though.

Only way I see any chance that Cavs contends with GS for the title is if the stars align and warriors have to go thru the following in the playoffs:

-Rockets gets the 1 seed
-GS plays nuggets first round. Nuggets have the personnel to give them a decent match in the 1st round, maybe win one game
-OKC manages to get the 3 seed and plays GS in 2nd rd
-Against HOU in western finals.

If Warriors blow thru these teams and Cavs in the finals, ain’t **** you can do
