Official NBA Draft Lottery/ 2010 NBA Draft Thread Vol. June 24th 7ET

The Pacers roster, with the exception of Danny Granger, is filled with role players. The ceiling for that current team is 7th/8th seed in the East, and that's it. They either need to blow it up or bring in a big that is about the same caliber in play and as skilled as Granger.

Trade like their #10 + Hansbrough + Murphy for David West or something (random name, you get the idea).

They're going to go nowhere if the only major move(s) they make each off-season is adding their first round pick to the current core.

Yeah that would help too.

Pacers are like the Sonics before they got Durant. Bad enough to miss the playoffs but not bad enough to get a top pick.

I can see the Pacers taking Conley for #10, but I only see us doing that if we really to get Bledsoe at #12 and someone like George / Henry / Babbitt at #10 which really isn't worth it.

If Denver can move Lawson to get a top 10 pick, I'm calling the league office. They need to add Afflalo to the deal or something.

Triple fail right here.

Conley for 10 seems fair, but Lawson for a top 10 pick doesnt?

and actually, 10-14 are the best spots after the top 5 picks imo. Theres no clear cut as in whose better, but Udoh, Babbit, and Bradley would all be good picks in that range, IMO.

Sac needs to take Wes Johnson to knock down 3's off Tyreke's drive-and-kicks.

The first 5 picks in this draft are so easy. WAS- Wall, PHI- Turner, NJN- Favors, MIN- Cousins, SAC- Johnson. I should get paid a small consulting fee from each team.

Edit: I'm hearing that David Kahn is sending out feelers that he's not interested in DeMarcus Cousins because he wants to get fair trade value for Love or Jefferson. If he states he really likes Cousins, some team may think they can lowball us in a trade for Love or Jefferson. By saying he's not interested in a post or a big, it basically insinuates that he believes Jefferson and Love can work, which in a trade would make teams believe that they'd have to give us more to get one of them.

Isnt that the point of the draft? By bluffing other teams?

If anything, they could trade down, although i cant see why it work having either al or love come off the bench.

let darko kick rocks. he has all the talent, but once he gets that big payday, you be he'll be chilling.

JPZ- Those picks sound about right except for Sac, we have Noc, Garcia, Casspi, and Greene. We don't need anymore wings. We need a big in this draft, if Cousins is gone I'd settle for Monroe.

You really believe the dude is about money? Because I don't.

He made a huge deal about not getting playing time, how he felt embarrassed because he wasn't out on the court, etc during the first half of this past season. I think dude's about playing and wants to do it in the NBA. I mean of course money is a factor, because just like our jobs these players are making a living off what they're doing too. It's their careers, just like we have careers doing other stuff. Darko's going to get a decent contract this off-season from us but I don't see any reason to believe that he would all of a sudden coast after making such a big deal about playing time during his stay in New York.

Hey maybe you're right. It's just I follow the philosophy that when you're a franchise like Sacramento, Minnesota, New Jersey, etc. it can't hurt to add talent, no matter the position (part of the reason why I wasn't all up in arms about drafting Rubio AND Flynn last year). Teams like us have win totals of 15/16 for a reason. That reason is that there simply isn't enough talent on the roster. Most people believe this is a five-player draft, as do I. After Wes Johnson, the talent drops off considerably. I mean Aminu, Monroe, etc.? Ugh. So many question marks there.

Stockpiling talent on a team that won 15 games is never a bad thing. Filling "needs" on team that only won 15 games is a bad thing. You know why? Because the need is talent.

I feel you about drafting the best available player, but the Wolves need some talent at SG/SF. Go take Wes Johnson already.

The Kings won 25 games last year with arguably less talent. Nah, we ain't in the same category as Minny and NJ. REKEROY!

How DeMarcus fall all the way down to the Pistons tho?

Monroe is such a Petrie pick... But he should realize this finesse game couldn't get past Shaq and the Lakers before with Webber, Divac and Miller. Spencer Hawes is a finesse center as well and the Kings probably won't re-sign him. Jason Thompson grew up playing SF so his post game is raw as a PF/C. Only Carl Landry can consistently score inside and he will probably leave the Kings when he becomes a FA next year. Gotta take the risk if Cousins is available.

i actually think Darko wants PT, but he'll def. want more then the MLE, and are the wolves really willingly to give an unproven player more then the MLE, cuz i sure wouldnt.

IMO, Hawes has the ability to succeed. He's needs the minutes in order to be productive, but he's not suitable to be taking that starting role yet.

Maybe he'll work out with the lamar type of minutes.

Hawes came off the bench for the most part after the Landry/Martin trade and he showed glimpses of potential. He's been doing that for three years now though. He plays really well against the Lakers for some reason, but he's just not very consistent. His offense seemed to regress this past year and his rebounding and defense should be a lot better for a 7 footer. He is still young tho at 22. And I think Coach Westphal doesn't really like Hawes... He refused to play for the summer team even though injury-prone Kevin Martin wanted to even though he's "old." He kind of reminds me of Chris Mihm, but I hope he doesn't disappear from the league like Mihm.

why is it every time you see a trade rumor you try to throw memphis in it?
