OFFICIAL NBA Live 18 Thread | Available Now

live and 2k both insta cop....

don't even get why there is a war between the two titles...

its 60$ each....we spend more money on the dumbest **** but when it comes to two games... loyalty starts?

loyal to that $60...n' backwards..

2k will never touch lives presentation, animations, sound track... etc.
This is one of the main points of why Live fell off
wtf.png

Pro-Am looks dope.

Having no player editing is mind blowing lol...I dont really care for it for the most part though

Still not sold but Live is making strides

This actually looks pretty good this year! There was a time when Live was overall more fun to play than 2k. I think it was when Wade was on the cover that I stopped playing.

Ty Dolla $ign, Vince Staples, Nick Catchdubs feat. Iamsu! & Jay Ant, Oddisee and a brand new song by Illa J.

EA SPORTS has once again partnered with MICK to create a fresh soundtrack of over 20 songs presenting some of today’s biggest artists and tomorrow’s next stars. The NBA LIVE 16 in-game soundtrack will debut new tracks from Kill The Noise & Madsonik, Your Old Droog, OverDoz., R. City and Shirt. The full soundtrack list is below, and will be available both when the free demo debuts on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live on September 15*, as well as when the game launches on September 29.

“Every year, we try to top the soundtrack from the previous year, and this year’s lineup is great,” MICK said. “We touch all regions, all sounds, and all aspects of dope new music in this game. From eclectic trap icons like Travis Scott, Young Thug, and Future to soulful and smooth emcees like Oddisee, Illa J and Phony Ppl; from lyricists like Fashawn, Shirt, King Los and Vince Staples to classic melodies by Jidenna and Jamie xx. And of course, we have some legends on the soundtrack as well: Kendrick Lamar, Large Professor and Busta Rhymes. I’m really pleased with the track list we put together this year.”

Where does NBA LIVE 16 cover star Russell Westbrook rank among the league’s top PGs? Find out here.
image.img.jpg

CHRIS PAUL (95 OVR)
LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS
6’0, 175 POUNDS

Lob City is led by one of the best playmakers in the NBA and his ratings show it. CP3 has the top passer rating in the game, coming in with a 96 Pass Accuracy and 94 Court Vision. His handles? Ridiculous, with a 92 Dribble. Don’t forget about his deadly long-range ability: It’s a 93.
image_0.img.jpg

RUSSELL WESTBROOK (94 OVR)
OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
6’3, 195 POUNDS

He’s an athletic freak of nature and graces the cover of NBA LIVE 16. He’s also the fastest (98 Speed) player in the game and strongest PG (75 Strength). His dunk rating, you ask? At the top of his position, with a 90. Westbrook thrives on scoring with contact (89 Score With Contract) and drawing fouls (89 Draw Defensive Foul). He’s not just a beast on offense: Try getting past his 86-rated On-Ball D.

STEPH CURRY (94 OVR)
GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS
6’3, 185 POUNDS

The MVP is unstoppable behind the arc. That’s why Chef Curry has the game’s best 3-point shooter, with a 98 Long-Range Ability. When the game is on the line, dish it out to Curry. He’ll more than likely hit the shot with his 95 Clutch Shooting rating. Guarded shots (91 Contested Shot Rating) aren’t a problem either.

KYRIE IRVING (90 OVR)
CLEVELAND CAVALIERS
6’3, 191 POUNDS

Kyrie’s a crisp shooter with playmaking abilities and his game reflects that. He’ll nail any open shot with his ratings: 93 Long-Range, 89 Mid-Range and 90 Close-Range Ability. He’ll hit guarded shots (90 Contested Shot Rating) too. His handles sit at a league-best 93 Dribble.
image_2.img.jpg

JOHN WALL (90 OVR)
WASHINGTON WIZARDS
6’4, 196 POUNDS

With lightning-fast quickness (97 Speed) and ridiculous hops (91 Vertical), Wall is one of the most exciting players in the game. His 93-rated Off the Dribble Shot will punish defenses all season. Oh, and have fun throwing down something nasty with his 89-rated Dunk.
image_4.img.jpg

DAMIAN LILLARD (90 OVR)
PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS
6’3, 195 POUNDS

Last year’s cover star makes the list thanks to his versatility and playmaking ability. Cash in on clutch shots with Dame Dolla’s 85 Clutch Shooting rating, even if a defender is in your face (90 Contested Shot). See him bust out the mean muggin’ Dame Face celebration after a big bucket.

Who are the best shooting guards in NBA LIVE 16? Get the latest ratings here.

JAMES HARDEN (95 OVR)
HOUSTON ROCKETS
6’5, 218 POUNDS

Notorious for his scoring ability (95 Close Range, 93 Layup), Harden is unstoppable when he drives to the hoop. He almost always successfully draws the And-1 (90 Score With Contact, 95 Draw Defensive Foul). He’s also the fastest SG in the game, with a 94 Max Speed. Your opponent will have a tough time stopping him.
image.img.jpg

KLAY THOMPSON (91 OVR)
GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS
6’7, 205 POUNDS

He’s one-half of the Splash Brothers, so needless to say he’s automatic behind the arc (96 Long Range Ability). In fact, he’ll hit any shot on the court with his 91 Mid Range Ability and 92 Close Range Ability. He’ll even knock ‘em down with a hand in his face with an 88 Contested Shot rating.
image_0.img.jpg

KOBE BRYANT (89 OVR)
LOS ANGELES LAKERS
6’6, 205 POUNDS

No introduction is needed for the Black Mamba. When the game is on the line, Kobe will come through (95 Clutch). No SG in NBA LIVE 16 has a higher Clutch rating. He’s also one of the best off-the-dribble, with a 94 rating. There are very few flaws to 24’s game.
image_1.img.jpg

JIMMY BUTLER (89 OVR)
CHICAGO BULLS
6’7, 220 POUNDS

The NBA’s most-improved player had a breakout year last year and his ratings jump reflects that. He’s a versatile player on both sides of the court (93 On-Ball Defense) and will log ridiculous minutes (96 Stamina). He’s also a big scoring threat with his 86 Layup and 85 Guarded Shot ratings.
image_2.img.jpg

DWYANE WADE (88 OVR)
MIAMI HEAT
6’4, 220 POUNDS

D-Wade is tough to stop in the paint with his 91 Layup and 88 Contact Scoring ratings. He shines when the game is on the line with his 91 Clutch rating. Flash will also burn defenses with his 93 Off-The-Dribble rating and will draw the foul too (89 Draw Defensive Foul).

Will anyone top King James? Check out the top small forwards in NBA LIVE 16 here.
image.img.jpg

LEBRON JAMES (97 OVR)
CLEVELAND CAVALIERS
6’8, 250 POUNDS

He’s the best player in basketball and he’s also the best player in NBA LIVE 16. King James can do it all on the court. He’s an athletic beast (95 Strength, 95 Vertical, 94 Stamina) and can throw down some of the best slams with his 95 Dunk rating. James will consistently shut down ball-handlers too with his 97 On-Ball D. Be sure to perform a signature chase-down block with his 95 Speed and 81 Block rating.
image_0.img.jpg

KEVIN DURANT (96 OVR)
OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
6’9, 235 POUNDS

KD may be the best scoring threat in the NBA, and his ratings reflect that. His 97 Close Range, 94 Mid Range and 90 Long Range Ability, as well as his 98 Off-The-Dribble, are the best in his position group. Guarded shots are no problem for Durant either, with a 98 Contested Shot rating. When the game is on the line, dish it out to KD and his 94 Clutch Shooting rating.
image_1.img.jpg

CARMELO ANTHONY (89 OVR)
NEW YORK KNICKS
6’8, 230 POUNDS

Melo is very effective in the post, coming in with a 93 Post Offense (top ranked SF) and 83 Post Defense rating. He’s a strong player (90 Strength) who can score in the paint (90 Close Range, 89 Layup) and when fouled (93 Score With Contact).
image_2.img.jpg

PAUL GEORGE (90 OVR)
INDIANA PACERS
6’9, 214 POUNDS

Paul George is one of the best defenders at his position with a 93 On-Ball D rating. But his talents stretch far beyond defense. George is a scoring threat (86 Layup, 90 Score With Contact) and can throw down some of the best dunks too (91 Dunk).
image_3.img.jpg

KAWHI LEONARD (89 OVR)
SAN ANTONIO SPURS
6’7, 225 POUNDS

Kawhi Leonard is one of the most versatile players at his position. Known for his dominant defense, he has 86 Post Defense, 91 Help Defense and 95 On Ball D rating. He’ll definitely grab some steals too with his 92 Steal rating.
NBA LIVE 16 Playcalling and Defense
Posted September 10th at 10:00am.

image.img.jpg

Get involved with calling plays now that there are more to choose from, and a Play Wheel to help you select them. Check out the improvements to the defense including better help defense, ball denial, and screen defense.
image.img.jpg

NEW PLAYCALLING SYSTEM

You’ll find a lot more plays for each team, and that gives you more choices to keep your opponent off-guard. With more plays at your fingertips, you’ll get new ways to choose which plays to run.
image_0.img.jpg

CHOOSE A QUICK PLAY

First, when bringing the ball up the court, you can press the LB/L1 button to run the CPU-recommended Quick Play. A prompt tells you which play will run if you use Quick Play. No guessing and hoping that you might get a play you like. You’ll know exactly which play will be run.
image_1.img.jpg

SPIN THE PLAY WHEEL

If you don’t like the Quick Play suggestion, hold down the LB/L1 button and bring up the new Play Wheel. Select a play based on the top five combinations of players and play types for the line up on the floor. Want to learn Westbrook’s pick and roll plays easier and faster? Just select them from the Play Wheel and learn how they run.

If you want to choose the exact play, you can access the whole playbook through the Play Wheel. Sort plays by play type and find the exact play that you’re looking for.
image_2.img.jpg

SHIFT YOUR FOCUS

You’ll spend half your time on defense, so we’ve improved the AI on that side of the ball as well. Improvements include better help defense, ball denial on the perimeter, and screen defense.

Help defense is at its best in NBA LIVE 16. No more just driving at the hoop for easy dunks and layups. If you can beat your defender, be prepared to be challenged at the rim. The defense also will rotate open to shut down any threats the ball carrier penetration causes. Be prepared to make that extra pass from the kick out to get an open shot.
image_3.img.jpg

WATCH YOUR THREAT

You’ll discover denying the ball to outside threats too. Off-ball defenders will make it tough for you to get open shots or even get the ball to your best shooters. Get up on an off-ball player as a user, and deny him with the LT/L2 button when near your man.

Defenders will also try to bump cutters on their way to the hoop to get the offense out of rhythm and deny open cuts to the basket. You will really have to work hard to get your best players open looks in this year’s game.
image_4.img.jpg

SLOW HIM DOWN

Screens are going to be tougher for you too. No longer can you just call a pick and easily attack the basket every single time down the court. The screener’s defender is a smarter and more active in defending the ball carrier. From hedging, to switching, trapping and icing a screen, the defenders will do a much better job of containing the pick and roll game.

Not only will the two defenders in the pick and roll play better defense, but the other three defenders will be more aware in taking away kick outs and helping out on the roller. You’ll also see players switch on off-ball screens when a threat may get open off of one.

dope that they brought the live 95 camera angle back
