Yeah it's not like he has much to work with. Lakers and Nets fans just want him to fold cause he was dealt the worst hand. If I'm Hennigan I just come out and say we aren't trading Dwight. Dallas and Houston will be happy but Lakers and Nets will panic and do anything to get him before that deadline. I rather let Dwight go, and rebuild that way than get a crappy deal.

What would the Lakers and Nets panic with in terms of offers..??

I'll wait and see what offer they get was better than what the Lakers have offered, and what the Nets have offered previously.

this is getting annoying again, can the season just start so everything else can take the spotlight away from this crappy franchise and bum of a player? SMH

I'm sayin'. The Nets offer was the best offer they could make and it'll be less than that now cuz they can't take on as much as they could before. All LAL could do is add in Pau if ORL wanted him but imo Mitch aint that desperate and is smart enough not to buckle to that kind of pressure.

Exactly Lakers will continue to offer Bynum for Howard no picks.

Nets will offer Lopez + a couple picks for Howard. And because they have picks Lakers don't have.. Don't need to take on contracts.

Rockets by then will not have the space they have now so it'd be picks +expirings for Dwight, and if lucky maybe Duhon

pretty much, lakers and nets are gonna stick to their guns because both teams already made moves this offseason....

Neither the Lakers or Nets can make an offer that does a team that will need a complete rebuild any good whatsoever... Unless Orlando goes full ******, those teams have gotta be out of it at this point.

They're better just letting dude walk than handing him to the Lakers for nothing (Bynum ain't re-signing there) or taking back contracts from Brooklyn that aren't conducive to a rebuilding project.

For big proponents of players never leaving money on the table.... Then say Bynum will not resign in Orlando where he'd be the number 1 guy and get $20+mil more.. Seems a little distracted

Do players never leave money on the table? Or do they?

Letting Dwight leave for nothing is the worst thing Magic could do... Best thing they can do is trade him now while they can still bleed better offers.

Bynum would be able to leave and still get his money.. Players never HAVE to walk away from that money.

You're so determined Dwight will/should be a Laker you're not thinking. Did Bosh walk away from money? LeBron? They'll go the S&T route because having that giant trade exception to use down the road is a real asset. Dudes signing max deals never walk away for nothing.

Anyway, it's pretty obvious the Magic have no interest in Bynum, so why are we discussing this?

Right but they still got their years and their peak raise percentages. Bynum isn't going to have to walk away from the extra year. He'll be S&T'd just like Bron with Cleveland and Bosh with Toronto. They choose to walk away from the extra money to sign together, but they didn't have to, and that's my point. If Bosh had decided to sign with Dallas or LA or whoever, Toronto still would've done a S&T to get the assets. Bosh wouldn't have had to walk away from extra money and years.

Bynum isn't going to leave money on the table, and he's not going to have to.

It should also be noted that new CBA prevents teams $4 million over the luxury tax to take part in sign and trades as well as only getting four years max from the new team.

So in essense, if Bynum were to leave Orlando, he'd be leaving more money no matter what.

LeBron and Bosh still walked away from more money to play for others. In 2 (or 3) years, they'll have the ability to opt out and get max deals to compensate them (specifically LeBron) properly.

bron and bosh took less to go chase a ring , which bynum already has 2 of .

while kobe was the best player on that team he prboably just tells himself

"same laker team that lost in the finals to the celtic's in 08 won back to back with

me the year after" he's probably content with that and not paying state tax+

being the main piece on a possible contender , gasol puts down 10-11 boards a

game which takes away from bynum (who i think still averages about 12) and he

plays with kobe and smush/fisher/session/blake as his career point guards

so go figure he can average 24/15 on a playoff team team and get the max

and be the face of a franchise......he's probably content with that......

When you account for state and local tax that Florida doesn't have Lebron and Bosh brought home more money in Miami than they would have staying in Cleveland and Toronto, especially Bosh.

you do know you still have to pay taxes for other states you play in right?
