As much as I would love to see Rose back early and balling, it would be better for them in a long run for Rose to just sit out and tank. Even with Rose I don't think they can beat Miami

 and can't see them sign a big name FA anytime soon with no money to go around.

I wouldn't go as far as to say they are "hot trash" but they are terribly average to me. In fact, with the exception of Rose, i've always felt that they we're average and I have been consistently amazed with how good they do year in and year out.

Without Rose however, I fail to see how they will be strongly competitive. Without Rose, best case scenario snag a 7th or 8th seed and get bounced out of the playoffs imo.

What was the Bulls' record when Rose missed time during the regular season?  I might be mistaken, but I think they fared pretty well. 

If that's the case and they can play over .500 ball...they'll be right in the thick of things come playoff time when rose is near or at 100%.

That's why Rose was the MVP. An MVP caliber player takes a mediocre team and makes them great. People underestimate what great chemistry and role players knowing their roles and doing their jobs can get you.
