I’m size 9 in 990v4’s & 998 & went up to 9.5 for the x90 based on previous recommendations. I’m glad I did as it fits great up a half size.

I don’t hate the v5, but I do wish the toe overlapped the saddle a little ways back as to make it easier for colorways with different “toes”. I wish the v4 was going on NB1.

I was being sarcastic. I dont think anyone here is able to speak to why NB chose the v5 over the v4 similar to the age old question of why there is no 994...nobody knows.

the 990v3 was originally going to be the 994, but they decided to bring back the 990 series at that point and hence there was no 994

as for why custom v5 over v4, my best guess is that, from a manufacturing standpoint, it's just easier to make
less materials and less stitching equals less labor
