as far as squeaking goes, I think a lot of it has to do with lacing them tight or loose. just a theory.

Yes, squeaking typically comes from a leather tongue rubbing against leather wrapped under the eyelets. Tying them looser helps.

i have 997nv and bkr & neither has ever squeaked, squealed or squelched. i lace loosely though. imo, lacing shoes too tight is akin to wearing skechers. lace loose and walk hard, broskisWeird. I've had 998, 997 and 1300 Horweens.. none of them ever squeaked. On the contrary, 997GY, 997NV, 9975KH/RF all squeaked.

"If friction seems to be causing the squeak, sprinkle baby powder or talcum powder on the noisy area. For shoes, sprinkle powder in between the tongue and the upper part of the shoe or underneath the shoe's insole."

I had an insole that would squeak in my fenty creepers, a little vaseline on the bottom of the insole sorted it right out

That’s weird, I’ve never had any issues with 997gy 997gy2 or 997nv. I tie my laces a little on the loose side though.

Was going to jump on some NB coupons + 10% ebates but anytime I cart a 574 NB1 it says it is out of stock...maybe more confirmfatim that new 574 options must be coming...998 nb1 can be carted without problems

I've got a $60 gift card that I still haven't used... it would bring the total down to $12 after ebates. I an contemplating using it. Always loved the 1300JP color way but was out of my price range. This may not be a horrible consolation prize, although I still think the 1300 is king.

I agree. I wish I had any pair of the 1300's, but for $80 the 574 should be a decent substitute.
