And yet no one is calling for heads internally or externally at NB. Mgmt must be doing something right when Nike’s CEO is on the ropes and Adidas has had a string of bad c-level mgmt.

That’s the thing though, mediocre collabs have no impact on the bottom line. JFG isn’t pushing the needle one way or the other for NB sales.

All I’m saying is, the collabs bring enough attention to the brand to keep them relevant with the “influencers” or casual fans. While the regulars can still pretty much get the pairs we want, except for the rare occasions that certain colorways are more popular for whatever reason, i.e. some of the recent 901v2s, and a pair or two of v4s.

Read that as sarcasm personally. Don’t know what everyone’s gripes are with “management” or collabs. You don’t need to own every NB shoe so not being interested in a collab is allowed and accepted. Don’t own any JFG shoes personally, but respect him as a creator and his body of work with NB - while it has a couple blunders it’s got bangers too.

They’ve also been doing retailer exclusive 2002rs since the model came out. Shoe palace, JD sports, footlocker, j crew etc. People come out of the woodwork complaining about things they don’t have a background of knowledge on. Same people will be freaking out when action’s 1906s drop.

I missed any sense of sarcasm and I know folks in here be hating :lol: , so wanted to hear their reasons.

Yeah I almost mentioned that they’ve strengthened their retail relationships by giving JD, DTLR, etc exclusive colorways and that’s great for business. I don’t see that as a shoddy move at all.

Collabs are a chance for new balance to go outside or break the norms of their usual tonal suede shoes and when we get trash instead, it’s irritating… Waiting for the next collab seems like years... especially when they’re teasing Collabs a year in advance with no release date. Bronson‘s aren’t coming out until June or July because they’re staggering the big influencers(action,salehe) six months apart. Jfg doesnt care about his collabs, he has said this in his interviews..he just wants money.
 
Would we all like to see good collabs? Sure. It’s not like in the past the only good pairs were collabs, and grs were trash… then I could somewhat see your concern. But only being worried about collabs….. #weknowaboutcha

But your flip-flopping now… First you say you don’t care but now you’re saying you want good Collabs. Which one is it?

Why you keep talking about GRs? Thats not the issue. We’re saying the Collabs are trash.. but you keep talking about GRs. If you’re good with the GRs im happy for you.
 
So because they put out great GRs, I can’t want to see a good collab? How is that flip-flopping? I have to pick one or the other?! It’s just that the GRs are solid enough that we don’t need a collab.

Good point. And although sneaker bros will focus on jjjjjjound, JFG etc, there are so many other collaborations where NB make inroads in other circles, mainstream brands like levis and Carhartt and fashion labels like mowalola, staud, aries, miu miu

Brother, we’re talking about the Collabs here so I don’t know why you keep mentioning GRs. The GRS aren’t the issue. Nobody said the GR suck.

If you go to Burger King because you like the burgers then that’s cool but we’re saying the fries suck. So why do you keep talking about the burgers it’s irrelevant.
