i dont see Wilfork coming back . its time for him and the organization to move on
him going points more to the organization freeing up money to resign Revis and McCourty
I don't really see it as freeing up room for Dmac and Revis because I can't really see any scenario where they would've paid him that 4 mil bonus taking that 8.9 mil cap hit anyway
Last year when they asked him to restructure the numbers they proposed apparently pissed him off, I think this way he can go out and see what the market throws out and if it's close to what the Pats are willing to pay I think he's back. If you look at his letter he didn't rule out a return.
As far as D-Mac, before the franchise tag dealine he wasn't even tripping about possibly getting tagged. After he didn't get tagged he started saying he wanted to be back but it wasn't a "he wanted to be back no matter what" situation. This is his first big contract and its coming in a year where he's the top safety available coupled with a weak draft for safeties. Once teams started throwing out those fat numbers I think he's gone.
Revis is a WAY more tricky situation. He won a ring already so maybe he doesn't care about going elsewhere for his last big contract. On the other hand maybe he values winning so much that he absolutely wants to finish out his career competing for rings. Another variable is the Ty Law connection. They're both from the same town, their families are really close with each other and he's also his mentor. Ty said if he could do it over again he would've stayed a Pat instead of chasing the money elsewhere. This ***** better be in his ear saying the same ****
