OFFICIAL NEW YORK KNICKS OFFSEASON THREAD: TRAINING CAMP

I was covering last nights game with Marc Berman for NYPost.com. I do some freelance videographer (shooting, editing andreporting) work for them and did a bunch a stuff with the Giants during there run. Lasts nights game was interesting to say the least and the Chris Sheridanarticle somebody posted was dead on. Isiah spoked to reporters after the game for about three minutes and sidestepped any questions about Marbury. So did theplayers....Nate Robinson avoided the question when I asked him if he or his teammates had any knowledge that Marbury would attend last nights game. Check outthe vid:

I hate to beat a dead horse but as someone that grew up watching basketball in the 90's and appreciated how tought the Knicks were year in and year out,it's just sad what's going on there. Maybe what everyone should take out this whole mess is that Isiah has totally black balled himself from any futureposition in the NBA. I mean there's always a chance but you will not be seeing him in the league for at least 5 years. If anything, the only chanceyou'll ever see him again is if the NBA expands to Europe.

Flatbush...this is a REAL random question...but I have to ask out of curiousity...your not the dude that be in the press room on the regular rockin heat areyou?... (no stalker...)

Has isiah left any organization in better shape than it was before he got there? It seems like every place he goes he ends up destroying EVERYTHING. Idon't expect us to bounce back to at least the new decade.

LOL I saw Gus the other night but didnt get to chat. I wouldn't mind doing color commentary or play by play in my career. Myself, Gus and Clyde would befun LOL! NYK it sounds like your dying to get rid of Breen already LOL!

I already do some color commentary on the high school level with the High School Basketball Network. I know some of yall like NYC High School B-ball so youshould check it out. The webcasts are free to view and are usually up a day or so after the games. I will be doing the PSAL Quarterfinals this Saturday andSemi's on Tuesday. Check it out @ http://www.hsbnetwork.tv/

I will also be at tonights game against the Cavs. It should be fairly interesting to see if Steph shows up or not. If he does I wonder how much he will say ortalk to the media. Isiah right now isn't really talking to the media for long at all. I will be doing another piece with Marc Berman and he should havesome good info on the Steph situation. I will post the link as soon at is up. Thanks to all of you guys who checked it out I appreciate it and any suggestionsor feedback you guys have is most definitely appreciated.

Am I the only one who has no problem with Mike Breen?

I just like it when he says things like "WAY off the mark" or "AWFUL shot selection by the Knicks," or when he describes a Knicks play asbeing "DREADFUL,"
laugh.gif
... When he is on ESPN/ABC he doesn't seem to be as critical of either team...

I hope Steph shows up so he can give another one of his classic interviews (word to "I do this to stay closer to God")

^I think Breen is a damn good announcer and probably the best basketball play by play guy. I think what fans don't like is that he struggles to separatehis nationally broadcasts from local ones and he is always pro-NBA/pro-refs. I would like to one day hear Breen just say a call is bad when it is clearlybad....its not necessarily his job as a play by play guy but the majority of the times he sides with the refs and its rather corny IMO.

^^Breen's a Knick hater. Who the @$%! is this fat dude that i cant stand who has been commentating games reccently. It should be like last year. I mean the1 thing we had was at least the commentators were good. We would have a lot of Gus clyde and Mike Clyde and occasionally Kenny. But i mean clyde who is thebest would be in prretty much every time.

Now Clyde is not nearly an exery day ovccurance. i meanin the past that was the only reason i would still watch %@%*$% Knicks teams, but if we have no Clyde, whats the point?

We need A LOT more Gus/Clyde and no more of this new guy

Word...Marv was the man when it came to callin games...I watch Nets broadcasts and I get a little nostalgic sometimes

...Clyde is the real deal too though, Seen him walkin into the Garden the otherday with his Red velvet suit wearin self...

Marv Albert was the greatest PBP man the Knicks have ever had. It's safe to say that most Knick fans enjoyed his broadcasts. I mean, you would think a guywho has been the voice of the team for over 35 years would be more appreciated by Cablevision no?

Albert said that MSG officials were offended by his analysis and intolerant of criticism of the Knicks.

"They confuse negativity with objectivity,'' Albert said. "If the team didn't play well the previous game, just don't deal with it. Don't talk about Knick turnovers, don't talk about the opposition. It was constant things that cut into your integrity or your credibility. It wasn't like I was killing them, either.''

Albert felt he could report only what he saw; his superiors, going up as high as James L. Dolan, chairman of Madison Square Garden and president of Cablevision, saw an announcer who harped on negatives and did not seem to like the team.

Dolan embraced the belief that MSG announcers should call games with a more positive, upbeat approach than those who have national assignments. In this case, two industry executives said, Albert angered Dolan by providing the same type of objective, somewhat critical call on MSG that he did for his National Basketball Association assignments on TNT and used to do on NBC.

''Jim felt all broadcasters had to be cheerleaders and sell tickets,'' said one of the executives, who also said that Dolan was also unhappy with Walt Frazier, Albert's former MSG partner, and John Davidson, the Rangers' longtime MSG analyst.

I've always said, I HATE homer announcers. And Marv firmly loved the Knicks and always cheered for them. Anyone who listened to him knew that. That'swhy it kills me when so many of you say that you love Gus Johnson. I like him too. But he rarely has bad things to say about the team. And when your record isamong the worst in the L, how could there NOT be anything negative to say?? Gus comes off as a "yes suh, Missah Dolans" to me. And I ain'tfeelin' that.

I prefer someone who tells it like it is. Trying to fool the audience is like a slap in the face. How ya'll could like that is beyond me.

And yes, I enjoy Mike Breen.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.... Gus does get his point across when the team is playing bad. And I don't think we love Gus because he allegedly says nothing negativeabout us. BUT that his passion and energy that he brings to the mic in comparison to others around the league is unique.

I cannot wait for Isiah and Dolan (even though he won't be going anywhere) to leave.

You're right.

I don't want it to seem like I'm bashing Gus because he seems like a good dude.

I just miss Marv announcing Knick games that's all.

Give Wilson 35 minutes a night from here on out..

you'll see a starting small forward for next season.

Flatbush,

you covering the BET again this year?

I wish it were just Gus and Clyde all the time.

And if Dolan tries o pull $##! and get rid of Clyde i will do NY a favor and kill him

EDIT: and yes we need to give Wilson 30-40 mins a night i like his game alot as i said before he hustles and plays D but also has an offensive game, hesathletic, he can shoot, and hes agressive he reminds me of the 90s Knicks a little.

And what we need to do from here on out is rebuild. Draft Derrick Rose to run the point. Keep Marbury and let his 22 mil come off the books along with otherguys such as Jerome James, trade bums like Curry and get salary room.

When we are under cap, sign Lebron we would appeal to him as a team ready to be good with a great point guard in Derrick Rose in NYC. He could not turn thatdown ever to Jigga. But if he does sign with Jigga in Brooklyn led by Lebron, and the Knicks are still the ***% hole of the NBA, it will be terrible the Knickswill be ran out of town. we already had some old Knicks fans jump off the ship onto the Nets when they were in NJ and only OK but if they are in NYC, haveLebron, and are great we will be done.

Dolan better step up his ***% cause he can +$*# up this organization for a long time unless he listens to Stern and get guys who know what the +$*# they aredoing.

Hopfully in a few years we will be led by the new tripple threat of Rose, Bron, and Lee
