Steve Ross has seen HBO's Ballers once and notes Dolphins name and logo are used. "We're in conversations," he said implying lawyers.

So are the Cowboys and Packers logos/name :lol. I could've sworn that HBO already had an NFL license :lol

But does it give them free reign to use as they please? I'm shocked if they can continue using it in this manner

Dont know but it's not even like they're profiting of those TM's or portraying those teams in a negative light though. I hope they get to keep it up,it adds some realism. Haven't heard a word for the Jones' on the matter either.

After speaking to entertainment lawyer Michael C. Donaldson, who has over 30 years of experience in copyright and entertainment issues, BI learned that as long as the NFL trademark and team logos are used as they were intended to be used, and do not disparage or tarnish it, there is no need to ask for permission.

“[The NFL] brow beat a lot of people into paying fees that don’t have to be paid,” Donaldson told BI. “They extract those fees from filmmakers who are either nervous or not completely aware of their rights under the law.”

Donaldson gives this example in how to understand trademark law:

“It’s alright to say, ‘This Coca-Cola takes awful.’ You can say, ‘I hate Coca-Cola.’ What you can’t say is something that misrepresents it, such as you drink a Coke and you drop dead and someone says, ‘That happens all the time.’”

Pretty interesting.

if Trent wasn't a top 5 pick he wouldn't be on an NFL roster right now..

So basically Stephen Ross needs to sit the hell down :lol

That 'do not disparage or tarnish' is up to such interpretation but good for them if they continue to get by with using

So Ridley Scott has a movie about the NFL titled "Concussion", starring Will Smith, releasing this Xmas.

How am I just now finding out about this? But more importantly how is the league gonna react to this? :lol
