I just want to echo something that was said yesterday on here and I just heard it on the LeBatard show.

I love big hits, it doesn't hurt me to see an opposing teams player go down with a leg injury or injury that ends a season.

I'll be pissed if my fantasy player gets hurt because it's hurting me not them.

With that said there has never been a time when I didn't feel sick and worrisome over a Lockett like injury or anytime someone gets hit in the head like Josh McCown hit.

I don't see the double standard in that?

But it does affect them though they are the ones that got hurt. A guys ability to play the game so he can help his team win and make money so he can provide for his family is more important than anyone's fantasy team.

I feel the same way you do, but I do recognize some hypocrisy in that.  Every big hit we enjoy is maybe a few inches or a few mph away from causing what happened to Lockett.  And they're all causing brain damage that we only see on rare occasions.  When a guy goes out on the field like that it's basically just shoving in our faces what's really happening the whole time.

I've never cheered big hits in football, every time I see someone get injured I do t first think "i hope he'll be able to play next Sunday" I hope they are all right cause that's their livelihood. And yeah I do t know you but if something happened to you and you shared that story on here I would wish the best and hope you'll be able to provide for your family as soon as you possibly could as well.

Well you could argue:

1.  People accept things they shouldn't all the time because of their circumstances.

2.  The NFL actively worked to hide these things from players, including when these guys were at the college/youth football levels, and they're still working to minimize it, so they really don't know it and accept the risk to its true extent.

But I'm perfectly willing to admit as a fan that yeah, I wasn't shedding tears when Bowman got injured in the NFC Championship game, because I wanted us to win.  From the big picture when I take a step back I don't want him to be hurt or his career to be damaged from it, but as a fan in the moment it's a little different....

I'd be down with a trade for a offensive lineman but another QB? Nah. We have to draft our next QB unless Kirk wins the NFC East. If that happens he's earned his starters spot for next year.

You KNOW Kirk Cousins isn't your franchise QB win or lose, so why proclaim him your starter for next year.

I believe in earning your spot. If he wins the East he's earned it. We have other problems that need to be addressed. Drafting a young QB wouldn't solve those issues.

Coal miners know the risk when they go into a mine, doesn't mean I'm ok with a collapse. I'm concerned and have compassion. Just because they knew the risk doesn't mean it's ok

Fire fighters know the risk, doesn't mean when one falls down an elevator shaft I'm not concerned nor show compassion



I get where you are coming from but I don't feel that just because people know the risks that we shouldn't care when something horribly wrong happens

Best NFC East QB isn't a huge leap. Take out Romo and look at Eli post his last SB. What's so great about the QB play in the division?

It seemed to be a pretty big deal to you, this is what I said a week ago:

or we pretty much all realize it isn't exactly saying much, to say someone is the best QB right now in the NFC east..

Sam Bradford was out of football the pretty much the last two years and sucks (and obviously wasn't paying attention in the film room during that time)

Cowboys are dealing with dumb and dumber with their backup QBs and injuries

Even with the two super bowl rings, Eli can still go Eli from time to time (he does have three 20+ INTs seasons on his resume)

The big deal was made out of me saying it to begin with. Everytime Kirk fails it's brought up as if being the best QB in the East was impossible for Kirk to achieve and me suggesting it was crazy.

It's obviously not when looking at the East QB situation minus Romo and what Eli has done over the past 3 seasons. You agree with me actually.

Ha ha ha. Hey man I didn't want to bring race into it but I don't know how else to explain the different standards. Jays treatment unfortunately has raised eyebrows. Not only mine but others who've brought race up as it pertains to this situation.
