I don't have a horse in the race, but Bettis does have pretty decent numbers to back his HoF claim:
-10th most rushing TDs all time (everyone ahead of him is a HoFer except for Shaun Alexander and LaDanian Tomlinson)
-6th most rushing yards all time (once again, everyone ahead of him is a HoFer except LT)
-6x Pro Bowl
-2x First-Team All-Pro
-15,111 yards from scrimmage
-Eight 1000 yard seasons
-SB ring

He wasn't first ballot so I really don't see why it's a big deal.

Moss isn't just goat because of being a freak, or uber athletic.

Rice played with accurate HOF QB Joe Montana, and accurate HOF QB Steve Young, under offensive guru head coach Bill Walsh, while using stickum.

Randy Moss played with Randall Cunningham, Jeff George, Daunte Culpepper, the Oakland Raiders, AND THEN accurate HOF QB Tom Brady, under a defensive guru Head Coach.

The comparison would be like Moss playin with Peyton Manning, then playin with Tom Brady, all under Andy Reid.

And using stickum. ;) :lol

I think people are tired of seeing Pitt players in the Hall

Honestly can't think of another reason, based off who is already in there he was getting on with his career. Of course being media friendly and a 'good guy' helps but that's true in all aspects of life

Until he played with the Heat, LeBron had no one around him. Did you see the team he was playing with in the finals this year? 8o

If Moss is the GOAT, Lebby is the GOAT. Can't have it both ways.

neither are the goat. both of those opinions are absurd. rice played  20 seasons and moss 14 or so. moss was worthless at the end of his career when his athleticism was shot.

Randy don't play defense. Football isn't NBA.

Randy caught the "game winning" TD in the Super Bowl. But Rodney Harrison couldn't take the ball off a guys helmet. When Randy isn't even on the field. (Or Brady, nor would Rice be, Marino, etc etc.)

Bron is on the floor, both ways, every possession. And his guy been Finals MVP back to back years. The guys he "defends".

Not the same. ;)

If I remember Correctly Cunningham and Culpepper were pretty damn good when Moss played with them. So let's not pretend those two were Ryan Lindley. They were far better than average at the time. Plus...both those teams made the playoffs and one was one step away from making the Super Bowl. Outside of Oakland Randy played with plenty of talent around him.

Wanted to look up Brian Dawkins stats because I remember there being something crazy about dude:

36 forced fumbles. As a safety. :x

That's more than Ronnie Lott and John Lynch combined.

BEAST.

Robert Smith wasn't exactly Toby Gerhart either

Yes, they were great, heaving the ball 50 yards while Randy tracked it down, in double-triple coverage.

Surely 38 year old Cunningham, having the greatest year of his career, wasn't Randy influenced.

And Daunte, without Randy.........um......yeah.

Very much like Joe Montana and Steve Young pitchin the rock.
