@CP1708
what would you do in the Ravens/Browns situation as a fan?

Rock with the Ravens?...switch back when the Browns come back?
Ravens. That team/roster was the same one year to the next. If I lived in New York, what do I care where they move?
respect your opinion

I just couldnt see myself rooting for the Thunder as if they're the same team.

and then have the Sonics come back and still root for the Thunder

Thats just me though

there is no way if I was an OG Browns fan that I could root for the Ravens when they packed up and left

I would be scorned as all hell

So today you root for Durant, etc.
Tomorrow team moves. No more rooting for Durant.
Then the Kings come to Seattle, you root for Boogie?

Not me. My squad is my squad.

Raiders moved from LA, to Oak, to LA, to Oak, but Raider fans tell me how to feel. :lol

LA had two teams, then zero. They Charger fans now? Non NFL fans? 9ers?

*shrugs*

I brought this up during the Texans game. Did fans leave and go with the Titans and then become Texans fans? I always wonder about things like this in sports.

If you live in a city that has a team that's moving, you may have a hard time relating to people who grew up in and around New York , Philly, Chicago, Boston etc. None of these teams are going anywhere . Ever

Jumpman, what will you do if the Raiders move to Texas?

No hate or trolling.

As of right now I don't know. Would never pick another team to root for but I couldn't see myself rooting for them anymore.

I hope we don't move cause I'll be out of a job :{

I want the Raiders, it would be so natural with the Spurs.

Silver and Black. Silver and Black.

I feel like they are just using us though.

Could y'all ever root for the 49ers?

I root for Durant to succeed on a individual level

I just dont root for his team's success in the playoffs though

Yeah I root for Boogie, I have no conflict whatsoever with that...because the front of his jersey would be Seattle or Sonics

No different than rooting for players that come in trades to your team

Oh. So there's different rules for who lives where. Makes perfect sense. :lol

so if you grew up in Chicago and your pops is watching Cubs, Blackhawks, Bulls, Bears games in your youth...

you aren't gonna be more inclined to have a connection with those teams than some dude growing up in North Dakota?

Do I strike you as someone sentimental about a city or where my address is?

I've never been East of Arizona. 3 of my 4 teams are well outside that.

I made up my own mind as a child.

And didn't go Cowboys, Bulls, Yankees either.

Wait wait wait. So you've never been to a Dolphins, Cubs, Hurricanes game? :rollin

You are aware those teams do play in California, and Washington, right? :lol

Miami played in San Fran a few years back.
Sosa and McGriff went back to back in Seattle in 2002. McGriff's BARELY went passed my reach. :{

Home games and away games are completely different

i will never root for those f boy in Santa Clara

And I think they're are just using SA for leverage to get Oakland to use public $ for a new stadium.

If my team moved I'd still love the game but my interest in the NFL would fall off a cliff. I watch all my teams Wizards, Capitals, Nationals and Orioles evenly so I have more then enough to stay TURNT.

BTW Capitals bringing a title to DC this year.

I get what your saying. I guess an even easier way to say it is that when the team moves its not the players you where connected to but the team and the name and the colors and the logo and the city they where meant to represent. Players come and go but that is the constant and when a team moves and what was constant is now gone it can be very difficult to cope with.

I mean Im still connected to the players. The context just becomes different for me

When a team not only moves but changes its entire identity (minus still trying to hold on to historical stats and references)...It's hard to still have a connection with that.

I've seen a bunch of teams move. Raiders (multiple times), Rams, Cardinals, Oilers, Browns, Colts are before my time but I'm aware they did early 80's I think.

Sonics, Hornets, Clippers (before my time) Lakers (way before my time)

Expos, (Do the Angels count?) Are the Expos the only MLB team last 20-30 years????

And we might add 2-3 more NFL teams the next year or two.

@Elpablo21  I feel you. Especially a year or two after a team moves most of the players are the same still so you'd still have a connection to them. I guess overtime as those players aren't there anymore the connection to that team would start to fade even more cause that would be the last part of the team you had gone too.

Texas Rangers moved from DC. Use to be the Washington Senators. Early 70s I believe. We have 1 World Series Championship.

Why?

Imagine for a second (you'll have to really use your imagination here) if the Cubs won the world series.

You think I need the city of Chicago to help me feel emotion?

Ima be in Oregon cryin like a lil girl with a skinned knee & ****. Bactine all in the wound.

And if they lose the world series, same emotion.

I'm not connected to my team(s)?

The hell I ain't. :lol
I don't need cities, neighbors, Homer announcers, newspapers to tell me how to feel. I live and breathe my teams year round. And I live in a **** hole state. :lol
