Now it's "Nobody said he's great"
All I know is when I said he's average, reached his potential and not going to be a great NFL quarterback...It was you don't watch ****, he out dueled whoever( which was a lie) his defense sucks, his coaching sucks or whatever.
Later this season when he throws for 350 and a few TDs, it going back to hyping Tannehill again with random photos of him and word franchise being used again.
Exactly, you only grasp great, or average and reached peak. That's what your brain can handle.
Like it has been said, multiple times, he hasn't reached his peak, but he's not "Great" either. But he clearly has a chance, the possibility, to move into that 10-12 range of QB's IF he continues to elevate his play, as he has done 3 years straight.
See how that works? Needle doesn't have to be on Great, nor on reached his peak. It's quite possible to be 27, and still improving. You understand that?
The dude is in his 4th year in the NFL we need more than vague answers.
If he continues to mprove doesn't cut it.
Where does Tannehill exactly rank now ? Is he a franchise quarterback? Is he average, good, great?
Is he more than a game manager?
Vague?
Why is it that you need a defined answer, today? Why? Defined, by whom?
Yesterday Ryan Tannehill was better than Peyton Manning was, so does that make Ryan a “Franchise” QB over Peyton?
Tyrod Taylor faced a swiss cheese defense, and Andrew Luck faced a monster defense, guess who had a better day? Do we now define Luck under Tyrod?
I get that you are trolling 99% of the time, and you 100% of the time go against the grain, I get that, but you came in here trying to dismiss what Ryan has done (and is doing) because you saw him play wide receiver his sophomore year, so he’s not that good, and has peaked.
One of the truly idiotic things I have ever seen, but since Texas A&M fans on NT seem to be complete wastes of time, I guess it makes a little more sense.
As for your definitions, I guess today you could say that Ryan would be considered a “franchise” QB. I say that because A, he’s better than any upcoming prospect is going to be over the next 2-3 years, and B, he’s been given a contract that could keep him around during those 2-3 years, and C, he’s 27, and has improved for 3 straight seasons. If he improves again this year, I’d say that’s a QB still learning on the job and making strides.
Is Eli Manning, a franchise QB? He has multiple rings, and makes way more money than Ryan does, does that make Eli better than Tannehill, today? Was Joe Flacco a “franchise” QB, before he won his Super Bowl? Would he still be a “franchise” QB if the Denver Broncos had a safety that grasped the concept of no one gets behind you? You are a Russ backer, is Russ a “franchise” guy? Someone that doesn’t depend on a RB, Defense, Coaching system? Because I need to fill you in, Ryan has an absolute joke of a coach, a letdown of a defense, and a pretty good RB, who gets 12 carries a game for some reason. (that coach thing)
So honestly, I don’t see why you and 100027 use words like “great” when not one of us has said he’s great, just that he has improved, steadily, 3 straight years, and that guess what, for his “terrible performance” yesterday, he was actually pretty damn accurate, had a couple drops, made 2-3 really bad throws (in game #1) and had zero run game, an OC that got a delay of game inside the 5 yard line, a coach that didn’t run the ball but 2 plays for his #1 RB, a coach that went for it on 4th and 1, but instead of said #1, used an UDFA to run a SWEEP on 4th and 1. His first round WR that we took at 14 played ONE snap.…….do these sound like things a successful QB needs?
Is he “Great” yet? No. Is he pretty good, and getting better? Yep, he is. Are they starting to try and build around his strengths, and limit his weaknesses? Yep, they seem to be finally working on that, in year #4.
My question to you is, why is that difficult for you to grasp? Were you writing off Aaron Rodgers after his first 3 years on the bench, because of his sophomore year at Cal? Did you write off Matt Ryan because of his tenure at Boston College? Or Philip Rivers at NC State?
We have said, multiple times now, he’s in that 12-10 range and still getting better. Can he break thru into the top 10 this year? Maybe, maybe not. We will find out. But he CLEARLY isn’t in his sophomore year at Texas A&M anymore, he HAS gotten better, and he IS better than a lot of other teams’ quarterbacks right now. And the Miami Dolphins are not in the market for a QB in the draft next year. I would take those things to mean they are in pretty good shape with Ryan, provided they can support him defensively, and with some miracle reason for Joe Philbin to quit his job and maybe move to Bermuda for no reason. That would be super swell. But let me guess, you think Joe Philbin is a good coach, don’t you? Tell me the truth, you want to go that route with me, be honest, no one’s reading. You think Joe and the defense are jussssssssst fine, don’tcha?
