One thing people need to understand is that just because teams are cutting some big name players right now, doesn't mean they won't bring them right back. This is all a frenzy because of the schedule.

1. If my original argument was, "Roy Williams was having a breakout season before Tony Romo got hurt," what in the world could you possibly be talking about?
laugh.gif

2. Miles Austin is a better receiver than Roy Williams and about 98% of the rest of the receivers in the NFL.
3. Dez  Bryant, if healthy, will be as good as any other receiver in the NFL and is better than Roy Williams. Add his production to Jason Witten and Miles Austin and there about 3 targets per game for Roy leftover.
4. Tony Romo hindered his "stat-making" ability more than anyone. Once Romo was comfortable with him and Roy dedicated himself, they were a dominant and highly effective duo.

This guy talking about arithmetic while sitting in his remedial math class learning about square roots. i promise you I've done more math than your entire family word to my avy.

yea i said that with the ravens, wouldn't be surprised about shaun either. Giants and other teams are over the cap and have to restructure things in order to make it fit.
But i expect for sure Heap and Mason to be back with the ravens.

That crap excuse that he would have been great this year with a healthy Romo is just that, crap. There weren't exactly any premier arms in Detroit during his first few seasons and he still put up better numbers. His fumble cost them a game that would have put them in better position for a WC. Even when the team went on their run and were scoring points, he still couldn't get involved. 13 TD's in 40 games doesn't make him worth what we gave up in picks.

Owens is the same height as Roy but yea Tony couldn't get the ball up to a taller receiver.
Let me know which receiver opposite Terrell Owens put up pro bowl numbers once he left San Francisco. I'll wait for your response.

Let me know the last team to have a pro bowl receiver with 90+ catches and 1200+ yards, a tight end with 90+ catches and 1000+ yards, and another pro bowl receiver with similar numbers to the first receiver. I'll wait for that response as well.

Let me know what Roy Williams' stats were when Tony Romo got hurt last year. I'll wait for this response once I receive the other two.

The bottom line is, Roy Williams was brought into a situation where he couldn't win. He wasn't going to supplant TO as a #1 receiver. He wasn't going to all of a sudden get faster and be better than Miles Austin. He wasn't going to get 10 targets per game in an offense where the quarterback looked for no less than 3 other people before him. What kind of production were you asking for? O, the kind of production he was giving you in the first 5 games of last season when Tony Romo realized that Roy was a possession receiver who could score touchdowns when given the opportunity.

The TO part of your statement has nothing at all to do with the argument.  You're saying that Roy's downfall in Dallas is due to Tony not being able to throw to a tall target.  TO and Roy are the same height, so Tony doesn't have a problem throwing to tall WR's.

First of all you're not getting the point, you're just trying to come off sounding like an uppity smart %%% "I'll wait for your response on the first two" stop sounding so goddamn childish kid.  The point is not about the numbers he's putting up, the point is there was no need to trade picks for an overrated WR when there were holes on the defense and on the line that year that could have been addressed with those picks.  And yea, he was brought in to be the number 1 receiver they paid a number 1 price.  He got a good amount of targets in 08 and could not do a damn thing.  He was running horrible routes, he was dropping balls and he was acting like TO JR on the sidelines.  He had another full year where he couldn't beat the coverage and Miles exploited that and once Miles got going, yea they're not going to look to throw to an inconsistent baby of a wideout.  You keep saying Tony finally realized Roy was a possession receiver, Roy didn't even think he was a possession receiver.

He was brought into a situation where he had a 10 game window (which is plenty of time) to produce and did nothing to show it.  Roy was the #1 receiver going into 2009 and that didn't work out.

And you keep bringing up his stats from the first six games, yea they were OK.  He had 5 TD's.  Yea, he struggled when the offense struggled but when it came back with Kitna where was he to be found?  He was getting outshined by an injured rookie.  Your argument is completely flawed and you're jumping around from excuse to excuse to try and defend this guy when as a Cowboy fan, you should be celebrating his release and still curse Jerry for trading for him.

Bills...My surprise team of the year! I don't see them making a big splash or anything. Probably just extending contracts of players already on the roster.

yeah they know it cuz they don't want Nnamdi back... the Raiders MADE Nnamdi and have his replacement Routt who had a excellent season last season signed and waiting. One thing Oakland does is produce top notch corners.

I'm taking a wild guess here, but I say Marion Barber ends up in Baltimore backing up Ray Rice since they will lose McClain
