The headlines created more drama than was actually there. Same thing with Lamar and the Ravens. Never got the sense of “bad blood” between both parties but both had to go through the motions of a big money negotiation.
The fact negotiations are still ongoing when the 9ers could easily tag him next year well below market value says a lot.
