OFFICIAL NFL THREAD 2024-25: Week XI

Isn’t it obvious what’s happening here? They are speaking to AR thru the media… something is not clicking and they want that boy to fear his job is gone to motivate him. When in reality he’ll be starting again in 2-3 weeks
No he’s not that’s Flacco job ROS guaranteed

For the remainder of this year? Yea more than likely. But it’s not Flacco’s beyond that. We act as if young project QBs can’t take time and grow sitting. Original AR and Mahomes say hi.

Serious question, who was the last QB to lose their job for performance and got it back and was the QB for the foreseeable future?

This is usually an either or thing though. Either they start right out of the gate or they're sat on the bench learning until they get their chance (ala Mahomes, Love etc).

Typically don't see teams successfully trying both approaches

Eh he honestly probably should have sat for a year, maybe two. Jordan Love sat for a few. Just because he sits now, doesn’t mean his career is over or it’s on a downward trajectory.

It’s easy to see and the teams are telling you exactly what it is with these 2nd year qb benchings

Bryce- The team and new coach doesn’t like what they see and they think he sucks so they ready to move on…They started so ugly that they had to put Dalton out there for a chance to put a competitive product out there, win or lose…It’ll be a week to week thing for both QB’s now and most likely neither are on the roster after this season

Richardson- He’a not ready but they want to make the playoffs so they turning to a vet like Flacco which gives them the chance…He’ll be the starter again to start next season

I agree, didn't have business starting but they committed to that dor one reason or another after doing the veteran QB carousel since Luck.

Don't think switching it up is gonna help him in Indy but for sure doesn't mean he can't/won't be able to get a chance again down the line.

Might be a case where he needs another organization to really get going. We've been seeing that often recently, highly touted 1st round QB's flaming out at their original spots only to catch on elsewhere when they're a lot more experienced and prepared for the job years later.

Richardson is in a perfect situation in Indy. Especially if he’s willing to take that backseat.

8 home games in a domed stadium is a GODSEND for a lot of QBs

In regards to benching QBs or giving up on young players faster = the rookie wage scale and 5th year options.

Back in the days, rookies use to get huge contracts before the wage scale came about. And it made sense for the NFL to change that up.

Teams aren’t handicapped by bad first round picks anymore. They can cut their losses faster. Which is good

Giants haven't gotten that memo
