I compared him to Lamar? Maybe with the his rushing ability after that season but I don’t remember going to that extent.

Only white QB that should be anywhere near the convo of lamar as a rusher is Steve young

Daniel may have the ability to run, but he ain’t got that wiggle in him that would put him with RBs.. and obviously most QBs don’t, even within the ones with running ability

You ain’t go too hard say he was better than him or nothing too crazy like that like Air273 was doing…But you brought em both up when trying to defend your QB at the time (this had to be like 2023) when those two should NEVER be in the same convo under any circumstances

If I did, it was right after the season he rushed for 700 yards and was from a rushing stand point and that’s it.

I do agree about Dak's ntc being irrelevant if they really wanna move off him at some point, but I don't think Jerry's been moving boldly like that in a long time.

I do agree about Dak's ntc being irrelevant if they really wanna move off him at some point, but I don't think Jerry's been moving boldly like that in a long time.

How is it irrelvant? Dak can literally block any trade Dallas tries to pull off. Or force Jerry to eat like 50% in dead cap for the next couple years if they cut him. Dallas signed away all its leverage.

Now Jerry could look at the Broncos and hope to overachieve despite significant salary cap limitations from the Russ deal. But to bet on that with a rookie QB AND HC sounds more like a gamble than a bold move…

We've seen high profile cases recently of something being worked out with QB's with ntc's whenever their team decides to move on, even with guys with SB rings like Russ and QAaron.

If Jerry decides to kick off a legit rebuid, to draft a young QB and that Dak doesn't have a long term future there anymore, you think Dak is gonna gladly collect a check to ride the bench? Not to mention all the off the field noise/drama in recent years surrounding him and the team.

I'm not saying Dallas should do it, just asking about that story getting pushed this week that apparently has some credence to it.

We've seen QB's with much more leverage and cache still get pushed out.

Personally I think they should go after an established coach and see what they can build on with this group in the short term. They're not ready for a full rebuild yet given the decisions they've made in recent years.

I really don't think he'll have as many landing spots as folks think if the Jets get rid of him.

Gonna be 42 next season coming off a season where's continued his decline after having major lower body surgery. Don't see him magically levelling back up even if he's in a spot like SF with a ton of weapons. He's got a ton of weapons in NY right now and that's hasn't made a difference at all

Much more likely to end up somewhere like Tennessee than a contender next up IMO.

I will say it is probably more likely he retires. I would be surprised if any team really wants to bring him on even as a stop gap, he isn’t nearly the QB he used to be and is a cancer in the locker room.

If anything hopefully between this situation with the Jets, the Watson trade to the Browns and Carolina giving up everything for Young, teams look back and realize making these big splash trades and succumbing to the wants of the player you bring in usually does not work out in the favor of the franchise.

I just wouldn’t call the no trade clause “irrelevant” as nothing happens without Dak signing off on it, willingly or begrudgingly. It’s not an insurmountable obstacle but it’s a pretty big one. Broncos are eating 80Ms in dead cap because Russ wouldn’t sign off on a trade. That hurts but Nix and Payton have overcome it.

Say Dallas starts the season 0-4 with a rookie QB while Dak is sitting on the bench. You really think Jerry is going to let his 231M QB just chill on the bench? There is a reason Watson started all those games and not DTR or Jamies…
