I believe so.  On Ebay there are 2 pairs of red/black/white soles and one pair of blue/black/white soles. The red and blue would make sense with the olympics.  I thought the green ones were being released but It looks like those are just for the olympic athletes.
I still can not tell the different between the non-lunar trainer and the racer.   Are the new trainers just a little thicker in the sole?  Could someone do a side-by-side photo comparison?

The new trainer has the same upper as the previous (lunar soled) trainer, on top of a sole unit similar to the racer. I think the sole unit may be marginally thicker than the racer sole, but also has a slight indentation at the very back of the sole that the racer doesn't have.

And I still think the volt/black trainer (or racer) will be the first available to the general public at the start of July.

One of the first distinguishable areas is located on lateral side in the midfoot. On the Racer, the area has a triangular shape (with stripes), while the Trainer doesn't.

Another thing is that the Trainer looks to have cables bulging out along its upper.

One more thing is the Swoosh placement; the Racers' Swoosh is a bit larger and looks to extend up to the third lace hole, while the Trainers have a smaller Swoosh that extends up to the last lace hole.

Thanks Ray, great explanation!

NP! One more thing... the midsole on the Trainers look to have a pretty small yet noticeable section (around the heel area) that the Racers don't have.

The trials pairs retailed for $150 and they had both the red and blue versions available, but you were randomly given a color rather than being able to choose. They were also doing the option of steam fitting, which was basically steaming the shoe so the upper would mold to your feet.
Here's a couple pics I posted on Twitter. One thing I didn't notice until I had them in my hands was that you could see through the knit holes (the white part in the close up is the stuffing inside). The blue is a super vibrant blue that doesn't capture too well in photos, I like the red better though.

This. I can't find anything on that release date but it seems about right. I hope FNL gets them.

All I have is an RD from allan brettman on twitter. He's a legit dude- covers sports equipment /nike for the oregon live.

A slight sidetrack...

Jason Lester recently completed the Journey for a Better World in Eugene, OR, and he's running the victory lap in his FKxLTs!
